This goes out as a challenge to my friend, A Soulless Poet. And...trust me...this was a challenge. Those of you who are familiar enough with my work already know that this is not my usual style. And...an added challenge by it being my first crossover. Challenge accepted, my dear friend. I sincerely hope this meets your standards. And for those of you who are fond of my normal writing...don't worry. This is only a faze. I will be back. Darker. Edgier. Still the High Queen of Angst.

"What are you doing, Lavi?" The sweet voice giggled out, knowing that the young man was up to something.

"You don't remember what day it is?" He asked, a proud grin plastered all over his face at the fact he himself had actually remembered…even though he had never forgotten…not even once.

"Well…yes…" Azure eyes collided with emerald green as a smile graced soft lips…it had been this way ever since they had been together.

Tohru watched as Lavi continued to hide the mysterious item behind his back. Every single month of their courtship, continuing into their marriage, Lavi had managed to remember their monthly anniversary. The gifts were never very large or elaborate…he saved those for birthdays and yearly anniversaries. But…it was always something…and she loved it. But not nearly as much as she loved him. Not even close.

"Close your eyes…" He whispered, and the smile spread across her face as she complied, a gentle blush gracing her pale cheeks.

Lavi watched as the smile lit up every feature on her face. When she smiled, she smiled from head to toe. One of the things that had drawn him so close to her. She was like the sun…his Tohru…flooding the entire world with light and warmth. As he gently brushed the silk petals of the rose to her crimson cheek the shudder that ran through her passed through his entire body. Another sweet giggle escaped her lips has he found he couldn't contain himself anymore, his lips meeting her nose in a gentle kiss as her face crinkled up into an expression he found absolutely irresistible.

"Lavi, that tickles!" She continued to giggle, and Lavi found he was standing beside himself in amazement…how was it that he had found someone like her?

"Open your eyes." He responded, his voice growing husky with the emotions threatening to overtake him.

As Tohru opened her eyes her sweet, gentle gaze landed on the single red rose held in her husband's hand. Her slender fingers gently wrapped around the stem as he held it out to her. Lifting the rose to her button nose, she let the petals grace her lips as she took in its fragrance. Lavi absorbed every minute expression that crossed her face, committing to memory every line and freckle of the face he would never grow tired of gazing at…ever. As azure eyes finally met his, Lavi felt his entire soul completed in the one person he never wanted to be without. Tohru moved closer to him as he felt the blood underneath his skin warm and come to a boil. Slowly lifting herself off the ground and on to her tip-toes, Tohru's lips met his in a slow, warm kiss that made him feel fully and truly alive.

"Happy Anniversary." He whispered, finally taking her tiny frame into his strong embrace…lifting her toes off the floor.

"I love you…" She whispered back…the only words that had ever mattered to him…the only ones he ever wanted to hear pass her lips.
