I Never Knew
'Right, left, roll, down' these thoughts rushed through Luke Skywalker's head as he was flying his x-wing in the battle of against the Death Star. The enemy had just killed Biggs, Luke's best friend and Luke knew that they were coming for him next. 'If only I could just get down into that trench' Luke thought as the enemy came closer.
On the other side of the battle sitting ominously in his TIE sat Darth Vader, he had been sensing something about one of the rebel pilots and realized that the boy must be strong in the force, this child could be a threat to everything, he set out to kill him immediately.
Luke saw the TIE flanked by his two wingman coming towards him, he did everything in his power to roll out of the way, but in the end the number of them against him was too great for his skill.
"Target's position locked," said Darth Vader's TIE computer, he fired away and hit the x-wing square on, blowing it up. A wave of sadness and light suddenly flowed through the force, and Darth Vader was overwhelmed by the peace and tranquility it showed him. He saw this young boy, the one he had just killed flash before his eyes. With a sudden start he realized this child had been his son. He had a son, he never even knew him, and he had just killed him. He sat in his TIE unmoving, not breathing and just stared.
3 hours later the Death Star pulled the lonely TIE fighter into its main docking bay, when the medics opened the hull, they found Darth Vader dead, the note on his computer simply read "I never knew."
