Saphire walked into the junkyard and it was completely empty.

No wonder, she thought, It's past midnight.

The grey tabby sat on the giant tire and began grooming her messy fur. She paused in mid tongue stroke when she thought she heard purring. She was right and the purring steadily continued. Sapphire looked over to the oven at her right and sure enough, there was the Rum Tum Tugger. He was purring in his sleep again. Dreaming of his kitten fan club no doubt.

Even though Sapphire was only a kitten, she had had a crush on Tugger since she could remember. But what were her chances of being with him? Nearly all of the queens were drolling at the VERY handsome tom's paws. And besides, Tugger already had a mate that he loved dearly :

Bombalurina. There was no way that Tugger would give up the red queen for just a silly little tabby kitten.

Sapphire looked back up at Tugger as the wind began to ruffle the tom's fluffy mane. Only one word came to Sapphire's mind as she watched this : Sexy. She believed that that word described him so well.

For weeks, Sapphire had been Tugger to notice her. She doubted that Tugger even knew what her name was.

Sapphire slid off the tire and landed on all fours. She began trotting off to where Tugger was sleeping. The tom's hind paw was hanging off the side of the stove and was swaying back and forth in the light breeze. His head was rested on top of his paws that were neatly crossed over one another.

The grey kitten wondered where Bombi was. She hardly ever left Tugger's side, yet the tom was sleeping alone.

Maybe the two cats got into a fight.

Maybe Bombi left Tugger.

Or maybe Tugger left Bombi.

Maybe…

Sapphire's spirits lifted and her mouth widened into a hugs smile revealing all of her shiny, white teeth. She decided that she wou;d ask around with the other cats in the morning.

Maybe she was right.

Maybe she did have a chance with the Rum Tum Tugger.

Maybe…

But she would have a lot of work to do. She had to get Tugger to learn her name first of all. Yeah, that would be quite helpful. Then the two would have to bond. There was so much. Not to mention that Sapphire would have to keep away all of the other queens and kittens so that she could get to Tugger first.

It would be hard but the tabby kitten was very determined.

Sapphire headed off to her den to get some rest.

Of how she wished that her suspicions were correct. If the were, she had a lot of work to get done in the morning.
