A small, yet marvellous blue box floated through the Vortex of time and space, spinning in a perfect clockwise circle. All seemed quite peaceful on the outside, yet on the inside violent noises echoed through the strangely large interior. Hisses, whacks and groans followed by a male running across the mesh floor grumbling under his breath and then fell to his back. He pulled himself under the control panel, dark eyes peering up at an assortment of other worldly cables and crystals some glowing and some not. Some wires seemed to have bits of gum and sticky tape holding it in place, yet when a wire suddenly broke free and sparks flew onto his hand, his head jolted up suddenly in shock. He smacked his forehead underneath the control panel and slid out to stand at full height. He rubbed his forehead, checking his fingertips for blood. The only thing that stung was his right hand from the brief electrical shock. He shook it and threw a dark glare at the machine before him, holding a mallet threateningly.

"I told you before. We CANNOT go there".

The machine hummed back as if it were pressuring him. He sighed and lowered the mallet rather concerned that another whack could send a big dent in the Dark Ages.

"Fine, but if anything goes wrong I'm blaming you". He pulled a lever toward him gently as the Time Vortex hummed to life. "The sixties is really not a favourite era of Time in my book", the machine hummed back to him as if answering. "Yes, it was a horrible experience! Martha had to work at a shop!" Another hum answered him. "I daresay she fancied me. You and I both know that". A final hum as the TARDIS came to a rumbling halt. "Now where have you landed us this time, not on the top of Big Ben I hope..." He reached up and flicked on the view screen, pleased to see not a large bustling city before him but pure wilderness. "Ah! A vacation. Brilliant. Soak up the rays; catch a few fish... what's that?" The machine groaned. "Are you insulting my ability to catch fish?" He shook his head. "Fishing is a fine art, thank you very much".

With the TARDIS finally silenced, he scurried down the mesh walkway to the doors where he then yanked them open with a broad grin. His grin soon subsided as he was suddenly pelted with a snowball. He licked his lips and slowly opened his eyes, in time to see two young boys staring at him in shock and running off. He wiped the snow from his face and flicked his fingers as the snow fell to the floor of the TARDIS. "Vacations and I never do seem to mix well", he paused at the thought. "I forgot to bring a banana".
