Ichigo always knew that he was somehow different, and being a shinigami had nothing to do with it. To him, having shinigami powers was more of a pain in the ass than anything else. Sure saving souls from hollows, and purifying said hollows was a good deed or something like that. But he preferred being a normal high school kid like everyone else. (Though not all of his friends weren't really normal to begin with)

Ah, he was back. Always before he went to bed. Not that he was complaining really.

They always bickered at each other, but now it more like a game, there wasn't any hard feelings in it anymore.

This was how they always interacted with each. If someone heard them they would have thought they were really out to kill each other. But if you looked more closely, you'd noticed that they were in fact smiling in a joking way at each other.
-Oi, Kurosaki?
-Yeah?
-Ya smell like strawberries.
-I thought we already talked about this, its Yuzu's fault.
-Whatever, ya still smell good ta me.
-Thank you do too. Now just go to sleep.

Ichigo then realized why he felt different. He wasn't feeling different in a bad way, he was just happy. Happy and somewhat satisfied with his life, and that was because of Grimmjow. Espada number sexta and one who tried to kill him. The bastard still made him feel loved thought.
-Hey Grimm?
-Hmm? What is it Ichi?
-I love ya.
-...Love ya too, now let me sleep you emotional bitch.
-Yeah yeah.
Yep, he was happy. And he wasn't going to change it for anything else in the world.
