I was proud when my box was opened and I saw a policeman putting me and my brothers in his weapon. We were going to be used for good. When we pulled into the police garage, I was disappointed. I thought we were going to get the bad guys. It looked like we were going back to the precinct. We'd have to wait until another day. As we sat in the car and the cops read their paper, I was getting antsy for my chance at making history. As they started up their car, I got excited. I was going to get my chance.

The screeching of metal on metal was disconcerting, as I felt the cops finger on the trigger I got my mind back on the job at hand. Before I left the gun, I heard someone yell, Starsky, get down! As I left the gun, I could smell the fear. It hung in the air so thickly that it smelled as strong as all the blood spilled by my ancestors. As I neared the man I was intended to kill, I realized who he was and that I was wrong. I wasn't going to be used for good.A lot runs through your mind as you're traveling at a high rate of speed towards your intended target and your destiny. I could see the light and honor in this man's heart, the very heart I was about to pierce. As I got nearer I could see the damage my brothers had done, but I was going to be the kill shot. I could hear other shots being fired and someone repeatedly yelling Starsky. I could still feel and smell the fear coming from this other soul. It was then that I realized that by shooting this man's heart, I was making the other ones bleed as well. I was going to be the cause of two honorable brave souls being lost to this world. I did the only thing I could and turned my trajectory. I would still hit his heart but hopefully not enough to stop it from beating. At that moment I knew my work was done and my existence was coming to an end. All I could wish for is that I hadn't done my job and my aim wasn't true. I only hope my last efforts were enough to save these two extraordinary souls.
