Song of Inspiration: I Can Go the Distance by Disney (Hercules)
She Was Nervous
I watched her from afar. She was simply breath taking on the gown she had on. Its plain whiteness complimented her fair skin, and her hair was sleek and tamed. She was no longer the bushy-haired girl I used to know…she changed, into something that can suck the air out of my lungs, literally.
She was breathing heavily, and I can see from afar that she was nervous. Her red-head bestfriend, Ginny Weasley, was with her, trying to calm her down. She gave a shaky laugh and told the Weaslette that she was fine. But I knew she was not, she was way too nervous.
The redhead left the room to check on her brother and Saint Potter came in. I just can't fight off the smirk crawling up on my face as I watch them talk. Potter was obviously breath taken by her beauty. Bad thing he impregnated the little Weaslette. I always knew he liked her. But nope, she didn't like him. And I'm secretly happy for that.
Suddenly, I felt my best friend seat beside me. Blaise Zabini. He gave a grin and followed my stare.
To her direction. Granger's.
"You really do love her, don't you?" I heard him ask.
"Do you really need to ask that?"
"Well… Pansy's not gonna like this. Nor Astoria." He shrugged. I frowned at the mere mention of the names, a prominent scowl forming in my face.
"Like I care." I said coolly. Blaise grinned again and left me alone, quietly mumbling that I was simply hopeless. I knew he too was nervous.
Again, like I care. The war was long over, and I can freely choose whom to love. Damn it, I'm sounding corny again. But, I don't care anymore. All I want to do right now is touch her. Feel her. Kiss her…
I focused my attention to her again, sighing deeply. She was now giving Saint Potter a light hug, which mind you, satisfied me, while laughing lightly. Even Potter was not able to take away her nervousness. Well, who wouldn't be nervous? She was going to marry the dumbest person alive.
And now she was left all alone. She was pacing back and forth, and gazed into my direction. But she couldn't see me ofcourse. She was too nervous to see me. She paced back and forth again, and jumped literally when she heard the church bells ring.
It was time.
She was about to marry.
She placed her hand on her chest, trying to calm herself down. Slowly, she looked again at my direction, and finally, she noticed me. I gave her a small smile, only meant for her. And she smiled back, her nervousness fading.
Well, atleast I was the one who was able to make her nervousness disappear. Not Saint Potter, not the Weaslette, but me, Draco Malfoy.
I heard the church bells ring again, and I saw her leave her room. I, on the other hand, strode inside the church and went to my place. My rightful place. I arranged my tie, feeling numb, as if all blood was drained from me. I could see from the corner of my eyes that Ron Weasley was also taking his place, feeling very proud.
Blaise Zabini went beside me, also occupying his proper place. He leaned on my ear and whispered, smirking.
.
.
.
"Well, lover boy, good luck on marrying Hermione Granger."
End Notes: Before reading the last line, who do you think Hermione was marrying? I mentioned, 'the dumbest person' well because, he was too dumb to confront her during the war and school days, so he considered himself dumb... okay? :) Don't hold it against me! I really tried to make it sound that she was marrying Ron. Anyway, I hope I succeeded.
