Hey guys, I am back, but only for short periods of time due to my work schedules. For this story, In light of playing and beating Blazblue: Central Fiction, I had to change a few things for this story, and you guys will see it eventually. I may or may not continue this crossover continuity with Chronophantasma as Chaos Intervention and possibly a Central Fiction title, Chaos Revolution. HOWEVER! I'll have to replay both CP and CF again to do that. I'll update my plans as I continue my complete profile overhaul. For now, this Wheel of Fate is getting rewound and turning with a slightly renewed experience. Read to your heart's content.

Shadow Stories: Chaos Link

Chapter 1- Resigned Departure

Various articles of clothing and equipment were laid across a bed of black and red, with a suitcase and gadget bag on top of the pillows. The clock strikes twelve, signalling midnight's embrace. Upon the bell, the clothes were transferred to the suitcase, and the equipment in the other bag. One last look of the old pictures, then the door was opened.

"I guess you're here to say goodbye as well," Shadow sighed as E-123 Omega walked in. After going through so much together, to depart meant indefinite tears. He zips up the bags, "You know there is not a thing left for me here. You and Rouge are more than capable of maintaining the peacekeeper role. Even solving that incident on Sonic's birthday, there is little left to apprehend."

Shadow marks the last day of his job on the 2015 calendar. His memory of the time rift back in 2011 was a little hazy, but Sonic proved his strength against him on the Space Colony Ark, or what racetrack it became. The destruction of this Time Eater caused the "nefarious" Doctor Eggmans to disappear, still have yet to be heard from to this day. It would be real quiet from now on, and Shadow saw this as his promise to Maria fulfilled.

"REQUESTING LOCATION OF DEPARTURE." Said the giant robot finally, but it received a head shake.

"Far, far from here. Don't worry too much, for I will return sometime later. I have said farewell, but send everyone my last regards. Farewell, E-123 Omega."

"FAREWELL, SHADOW THE HEDGEHOG."

Shadow's character has drastically changed since his reawakening. From the amnesia, to the ridiculous, pointless mayhem of the Black Arms and their comet, joining GUN to further push the past behind him. And now, the final change, genuine emotion to be kept forever. His power has adjusted as well, his inhibitor rings bringing a closer connection to the Seven Chaos Gems. The appearing gems' revolutions spun faster until Shadow vanished by his favored skill.

Chaos Control.

The scenery changed to a dim glowing forest, a distance away from his real destination. Eyes readjusting to the light, a photo was taken out of his suitcase. The city silhouette ahead was a very close resemblance to the outline of the detailed Kagutsuchi photo. Just a bit farther, he thought, and to meet this mysterious sender. He rummaged his gadgetry to find something like a watch. A few button presses and his desired look became part of him. He shape-shifted into a full fledged human: black hair with red streaks, red eyes, a grey shirt covered by a red and black light jacket, and black cargo pants, with his air shoes staying the same. The white of his gloves also turned black. Shadow then proceeded through the forest area towards his location.

"Whoa there!"

Shadow turned around to the direction of the voice, where a Chaos Spear stopped close to the face of a red giant: spiky black hair with a white streak, orange lens on goggles that did not seem to show the true eyes behind them, a dark red colored uniform looking sleeveless as well. Besides the two giant bottom fangs from his mouth, the golden rods on the dark cross in his back showed that he has been modified to no longer being human, and skin reddening more than a sunburn. Upgraded for combat no doubt, and the electrified gauntlets show it even more.

"Who and what the hell are you?" Shadow demanded.

"My name is Tager. I was ordered to make contact with you upon your arrival." The red giant did not seem to stagger anymore, as though welcoming death if fate had to. "If you don't mind lowering your energy weapon. I must report."

Shadow lowered the Chaos Spear and Tager made his call. It was then he felt a stinging sensation hit his head, then the sounds of static.

"Good work, Tager." A woman spoke.

"The hell…? Who are YOU, and why are you in my head?" Shadow's spear dissipated.

"Save the questions for physical appearances. Shadow, right?" said the voice.

"Depends on the idiot asking."

"I'll have you know I'm one of the greatest scientists in this place." she said, and Shadow shook his head. He already heard that before, he would rather not hear it again. "Name's Kokonoe, of Sector Seven."

"I don't have to look for a 'mysterious sender' anymore, now do I?"

"Heh, now you're getting somewhere. Tager will lead you the rest of the way. Tager! Not one scratch on him, you hear?"

Tager sighs after the communication clicks off. There was little room for doubt that Shadow is more than capable of fending for himself. But there seems to be no choice anyhow. Shadow huffs and follows, taking in the last of the forest.

The crack of dawn began when the two arrive in Orient Town. Some of the populace was up for early work. Spotting a small board, he turned to his bigger ally. "Any popularity among these cities and towns?"

"Red Devil." He responded.

Shadow shook his head feeling dumb. And he thought he was going to be the sore thumb if he was a hedgehog. He felt better actually. "Sorry, miss. I'll be more careful."

"It's alright," said she who Shadow bumped into. However, her eyes only met his for a second before backing away, "Red Devil!" Her hands drew two large handguns from crests of light miraculously. Tager's response was the electric output in his gauntlets. She turned to Shadow, "You're new to Sector Seven?"

"I do not believe I have the obligation to tell you that." Shadow crosses his arms. "Besides, pointing a firearm at me will get you nowhere."

"Careful, Shadow. Noel Vermillion holds a very powerful Nox Nyctores." Tager tells him.

"What is that, some kind of category for super weapons? I have faced worse than two large handguns."

Shadow disappeared as the girl named Noel pulled the trigger. It astonished her that he moved so fast against a bullet that leaves no trace of trajectory. Was it magic? Something similar to Ars Magus? She swung behind herself, causing Shadow to vanish again. A silhouette began trailing her as she shot both guns simultaneously. Only the last two hits struck a surface, cracking the wall. Just who was this Shadow?

"Still confused? You should. I have an ancient power not from this time or world." Shadow tossed the actual green emerald. "My name is Shadow, revered previously as the Ultimate Life Form. I hate to do this, but you must-"

Noel's rocket exploded, but somehow too little too late. "I guess I can't stop you with a right to remain silent…"

He sighed and struck a pressure point. "You must sleep now. Thank you for the deja vu appearance, you made me ask for forgiveness, even though I don't expect you to give it. Leave her?"

"Yes. She is not my objective at the moment. This way, the lab is just ahead."

The Sector Seven hallways, annoyingly consistent as they were, felt dragged out without much scenic view. With this boring pattern, Shadow would have had a hard time with navigation, but he only needed to use Chaos Control. Tager halts him, opening the door to reveal pink hair and a cat's features. This must have been "the greatest scientist" Kokonoe. And it seems she finished a small sucker.

"He arrives at last," She smirked, "Thanks, Tager. Standby for further orders. So this is the famous anomaly I detected, Shadow, but you don't appear to be 'The Hedgehog.' What gives?"

"I thought I would stand out, but I guess not. I used a shapeshifter." He displays the watch. "My original place was highly technological, so I bent a few materials to my will."

"Heh, smart as you are cute." She starts another sucker. "So, bombard me."

"You decided to make contact with me. Is there something that you need?" He asked.

"One thing, which is long term, but I won't guarantee you'll get much free time here."

"And this one thing?"

"An ancient, powerful item called the Azure Grimoire. You interested?"
