I have a new story (Cue applause)! Here's the stats:
Title: White Bonds
Author: LemonsIntoLemonadeGurl
Rating: T
Dramatic tagline: Ella White was the President's daughter. Ella White had powers only she knew about. And Ella White was losing control.
Summary: Ella White, 14, is the President's daughter. She finds out she's a mutant, and runs to the Xavier Institute to protect not only herself, but her father from the nation's wrath. Will she last in hiding when she's the most famous girl in the country? Or will she be revealed and have to take on a bigger part in the mutant war than she ever intended?
Sorry if the summary sucks, but I think it says pretty much everything you need to know. Thanks for reading! On with the story!
xoxo, Lemons
I walked up the last stretch of gravel to the wrought-iron gates of the school. The one school no amount of government funding could get someone into. The one school where there were bigger problems than how you did on that test last week, who was dating who, or how much the lunch food sucked. The one school that might actually teach me something: The Xavier Institute.
The only light within eyesight was emanating from a few windows in the mansion; the sky was starless and thick with fog. I walked to the side of the road into the grass, pulled my sweatshirt tighter around my shoulders, and struggled to stay awake till morning. With the surveillance system they probably had, they'd find me by 5 AM at the latest.
Four-thirty-five, to be exact. I was startled awake by a menacing *snikt*, the sound of a knife being unsheathed. A very strong, heavy knife by the sound of it. My eyes snapped open, only for me to close them again at the bright morning sunlight.
"Don't hurt the girl, Logan." I opened them again to see two men standing a few feet away, one young and strong, the other rather elderly and confined to a wheelchair. The younger man had claws protruding from the backs of his hands. He looked suspiciously between the other guy and me, frequently changing facial expressions until he finally shook his head, retracted the claws, and pulled me off the ground.
"C'mon, kid. Let's go," he said, starting down the path. The man in the wheelchair, who, according to my research, was Professor Xavier, gestured for me to follow and headed to the school as well. The only option for me was to follow.
So...you like it? Hate it? Want to send Wolverine to shred it to pieces? Please review! Thanks!
