Prompt was for Alec/anyone, dark chocolate

---------------------+-----------------+------------------

Alec sometimes thought that Max was like really good cocoa. The kind they make thick, with really dark chocolate, and with spices. Warm and comforting, like being invited home. But if you're not careful, you'll get stung by the burn. But later, as you keep drinking, the deep flavor, that exquisite richness lingering on your tongue, will make it worth it.

Alec thought of Logan like one of those really good chocolates they sell at stores for people who look down their noses at other people. A dark chocolate shell, perfect and contained and elegant. But then when you took it home, it was a totally different story. Because inside, that beautiful rich chocolate was hiding some other ingredients, ones that weren't listed on the box. Something smooth and tempting. Some unexpected burst of flavor oozing down Alec's lips, loose and chaotic when he bit through the shell.

The three of them had been through everything together. Plenty of history, good and bad. Grandiose triumphs and sweet little nothing-moments. But plenty of resentments and regrets, and rivalries and jealousies. Plenty of compromises. Plenty of traumas and losses that they shared with one another, and some that they didn't.

But they were together still.

Alec knew the best thing about chocolate was that he never got sick of it. It never felt too sweet or too bland, or like he was just eating sugar. There was always just enough bitter to let Alec know he was having something real.
