AN: Hey everyone! I am MordredandGwaine... as you can hopefully tell. :) I hope you enjoy my story... oh! My beta is FanOfRandomThings... she is cool, go check out her stories...
The night was dark, and the wind whipped through the trees and valley, howling and moaning. The sound was that of an eerie wail, as if millions of voices were crying out in unison, and so they were... this was one of many nights yet to come.
The screaming wind was filled with magic, but it was not a peaceful magic like that of druids and healers... but instead something dark and sinister. Yes, it was a sorrowful, pain-filled magic. The sadness, of those mourning for their lost ones, filled the area and surrounding grounds of Camelot.
This was the end of the first week of The Great Purge, led by King Uther Pendragon, who ruled the lands of Camelot with an iron fist against all magic. He sent his guards and knights out day and night to search the land for sorcerers and witches, any who practiced the art of spells and incantations. They were instructed to capture or kill any who had magic, despite age and rank.
Why, you might ask, was he doing this?
King Uther's wife, Queen Ygraine, had died a little less then a week ago, after giving birth to the royal prince. Magic was said to blame for her death and so Uther brought the forces of Camelot against the force that had killed his wife.
The is the story of The Great Purge and the boy who stopped the genocide of magic, his name... Arthur!
