I don't own POTO in any way, shape or form.
Erik POV
I loved her and she betrayed me. I could understand why she left me. He could offer her a life of freedom and light, with me she would be condemned to a life of loneliness and darkness.
However this did not stop the pain. My heart was shattered and only she could fix it. My soul was destroyed as soon as my Angel of Music left. I sat at my organ and I cried over Christine, my body was wracked with pain as I lost the will to live. I played a tune, it was Music of the night, but instead of the deep and compassionate song I wrote, the tune filled my destroyed heart and my shredded soul with grief.
I started to sing but I broke off when a fresh wave of sobs escaped me.
Christine POV
I escaped with Raoul but my soul was broken. "Raoul." I said. "Take me back. He is the other half of my soul."
"I can't Christine." Raoul said. "It kills me to think that you love him."
"But I can't live without him! If I leave he will die and I'll immediately loose the will to live."
"I guess I have no choice." Raoul sighed in defeat.
"Thank you." I kissed him on the cheek as he took my hand and we travelled through the catacombs to Erik's home. The boat was moored where we left it.
"I can't take you any further." Raoul said stopping in front of the boat. He helped me in, turned around and left.
I rowed across the lake humming a tune which turned into Past the Point of No Return. I stopped as soon as I heard Music of the Night, but it sounded mournful not deep and compassionate. It suddenly cut off and I heard Erik's broken hearted sobs. My already cracked heart shattered.
I jumped off and quickly tied up the boat. I ran up to the open door and searched through his home until I found him in his room.
He was sat at his organ with his white half mask in his hands. He was sobbing. "W-W-Why Christine?" He stuttered out between his heart breaking sobs. "Y-You a-are the one who kept me s-sane, you are t-the one who holds my h-heart." A fresh wave of sobs wracked his body.
"Erik" I called. Tears ran down my face.
"Even now I hear your voice. There isn't a moment when I don't hear it. It haunts me." I slowly walk behind him.
"Erik, my love." I say "I'm here." I hug him. He turned around and hugged me back. His mask still in his hands. I move so I'm sat next to him and we keep hugging each other until he stops crying.
He looks up, his eyes watery and he clears his throat slightly. "Christine, I love you." He sang softly.
Erik, I love you." I sang with him, he slowly kissed me and I kissed him back. Nothing could end this perfect moment in both our lives.
