The pain pulsated through Jade; the pounding as fast and furious as the beating of her heart. Unshed tears burned her eyes and she allowed them to slowly roll down her cheeks. She didn't understand why Beck had gotten mad at her. She knew she was wrong to get his car into an accident but it wasn't on purpose. Suddenly he stopped and pulled her into his arms.
((Present day))
"Hey Beck," Tori said, "I'm going for my license tomorrow. I was wondering if I could maybe drive on our trip to Venus beach. I could really use the practice"
"Cool with me," Beck said, "Everyone what do you think?"
Everyone was cool with it.
((Fourteen months ago))
"Jade," Beck told her once she had stopped sobbing hysterically, "I love you"
"S…so w…w…w…w…-"
"Why did I get mad at you," he finished for her
She nodded and burst into tears again.
He waited until she had calmed down again before he answered her
((Present day))
"You're doing great Tori," Beck told her, "Now just slow down and-"
She hit the break too hard and another car went flying into her.
"Tori are you okay," Beck asked concerned.
"I… I think so," she said, "are you going to get mad at me"
She asked that with some hesitation.
((14 months ago))
"It wasn't because you had the accident," Beck told Jade, "It was because your drug addiction has gotten WAY OUT OF CONTROL. You could have been killed tonight. I KNOW you're hurting right now but that's nothing compared to how I would have felt if you DIED! I can't lose you and if I have to get mad to stop you from getting killed I have to do it. You may not believe this but I'm hurting too right now."
((Present day))
"Why would I get mad at you," Beck asked looking at her strangely.
"You got mad at Jade when she had her accident," Tori said softly
"NO! I got mad at Jade because she was HIGH AS A KITE when she had her accident and she wasn't accepting the fact that she had a problem. I wouldn't have gotten mad at her for the accident alone"

"Beck," Jade said, "I think I have a problem. I think… I think I have to check into rehab"
"Come on," he told her, "I'll go with you. I'm with you every step of the way"
Jade got out of rehab 14 months later and they went to the Venus beach to celebrate."
((Present day))
"I don't know," Tori said, "maybe I shouldn't go for my road test tomorrow"
"Tori," Beck said, "You know you can do this. I know you can do it. Now go out there and ace that road test tomorrow"
"Yes sir Beck," Tori said with a smile as he gave her a hug
