disclaimer: sadly, I do not own Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles.
"Yeah!'' I cried out after defeating my ninth boss. Dancing around for a minute, I remembered that I needed to stop and get myrrh for my village. I walked up to the myrrh tree and placed the chalice upon the stone that was always there at the foot of the myrrh trees. I pushed it forward and waited for the myrrh to drop. The camera angles panned around me and then zoomed on the droplet of myrrh ready to fall. In slow motion I waited as the drop formed and then fall. I watched as it fell... and fell... and splashed into the rock, completely missing the chalice.
I stared for a moment, half expecting myself to have been daydreaming. I rubbed my eyes. No, I was right. The myrrh had missed. "…What...the...fuck...?" I said quietly, disbelieving. How could something like this happen? I had a city back home I had to protect. Had I painstakingly killed that boss, all for nothing?
I sat down, stumped, until that stupid mail moogle arrived. I hate that moogle.
Glaring, I stood up and yelled at him to get my frustration out. "What is wrong with this stupid fucking tree?! This is all your fault!" Without thinking I went up to the myrrh tree and kicked it. Unfortunately, that made things worse, as the tree was as hard as stone.
"Fucking tree…" I said, slumping to the ground, defeated.
The mail moogle looked stunned for a moment as it bobbed there in front of me so I just yelled at it again. "You stupid moogle!" It dropped my mail and promptly left. I watched him leave, almost feeling bad, before I picked up my mail and decided to read it. It was from my older brother, Gan Noo.
Dear Mizu
Hope you're having a wonderful time. I planted those seeds you sent me.
I faintly remembered having sent a fruit seed to him last time he wrote. I looked back at the letter to see what else he had written.
You must have enough myrrh by now right? I really hope you do, anyway, because the town is really low on myrrh. The monsters have even been threatening the borders of the village!
Hope you make it back soon, Gan Noo
My heart sunk. I guess that's the last I'll ever hear from him, unless he learns to fight monsters...
