Disclaimer: I don't own Glee.
My first and perhaps last story. All mistakes are mine.
Not a native speaker, but couldn't help but write this as it bothered me too much in my head.
"I love you."
Santana husked. There are no words that could describe how much she loves Brittany. The three words were never enough but they were the best she could manage to pull out when she is near Brittany. Everything stops in her head when the feelings for Brittany are fully filling her, leaving no room for anything else. She becomes helpless no matter how hard she tried to tell Brittany how she felt. It doesn't matter, though. Because…
"I love you, too."
Obviously, Brittany knows. Santana pulled Brittany closer, wrapping her waist under the sheet, spooning her, peppering kisses on her bare shoulder. Brittany's softness and warmth always calmed her. Brittany's side was the only place she could be herself in this miserable world. Hell yeah, Santana thought she is one of the luckiest ones as she found Brittany, her one and only soul-mate and at the same time, the love of her life.
They shared one soul. There was no need to decide which part of the soul is hers as the two of them were nothing like water and oil together. Their soul was like water with different temperatures. They just mingle, one cooling the other's temperature and the other heating the other's temperature, both to the mild and exhilarating level.
Before, the air Santana was in has always been too cold to properly breathe. Now, however, after she's got Brittany, the world finally shows its beauty that she only read in fictions and saw in movies which, of course, she used to brutally laugh at. Brittany is worth everything. Santana would risk her life if it is what it takes to be with Brittany.
She thought it is like she's got a chance one in a million can have. She met the love of her life that is everything about her, putting the scattered puzzle pieces together and completing her as a whole. How many people can even get that chance, let alone making them theirs? It isn't something that comes at the end of patient waiting.
Most people live their lives not having to get that chance and die without knowing what it feels like to have the right person. She will always remember the moment when she realized her life will never be the same and then, once she finally realized what it means to really live, nothing else really mattered as long as she can live it.
"Why are you nervous?"
Brittany slightly turned her head and kissed Santana's forehead.
"Bad dreams?"
Santana shook her head. The more she is certain that Brittany is the one, the more she is afraid of losing her, of something that could take Brittany from her. Even at the thought of life without Brittany, her heart ached. It pained her. Santana looked up and met the calming blue eyes she loved with all her heart. She felt like crying as they were just too beautiful.
"It's just… I'm so much in love with you. You know that, right?"
Hearing Santana's shaking voice, Brittany figured why Santana suddenly got so anxious. She also knew that they've got so many things to deal with. It will be the hell of a bumpy road for them. They are young and helpless. It will surely take so much from them. But Brittany wasn't afraid. She knew they will eventually go through anything lying before them, as long as they are together. She didn't worry. So, holding Santana tight, Brittany whispered to the ear of the love of her life.
"No need to worry about anything, babe. I've got you, and we will be fine. We're gonna be fine."
This is what I think we should do when we find the love of our life. I, unfortunately, haven't been one of the luckiest ones. So, still looking for mine. Hope you guys are lucky ones.
