Magic of Always

I look for you upon the shore
like all the times I did before.
I've lost the hope that I abhor.

Alas this time, as long I stood,
Love could not soothe me as it should.
Nor patience last as oft' it could.

Your lies fall heavy on my ears
And in pain I forget your tears
as your betrayal wakes all my fears.

For my heart it beats asunder
and my soul is slipping under
love drowned out by internal thunder

I sought the calm before the storm
Loved cloaked hands tender and warm
As this pain becomes the norm.

For my soul is yours to keep
but heartbroken I sit and weep
and I only find you lost in sleep

My love is an endless seam,
written in an unknown dream
Instead of woven steady stream

My heart sings for yours to hear
its every beat when you are near
steady, thrumming loud and clear

Alas my love falls to the sand
Tasteless, broken, lost and bland
And yet still...here I stand.

I cannot turn from your gaze
My love has left me in this haze
Everything you've set ablaze

I am forlorn, burnt, tormented
Your lies fall unrepented
and I exist now, discontented.

Until I saw thee, on the sand
A spectre from this point I stand
