Today could've been like any other day and life could just be normal, but it can't because today just so happened to be the day I, Rima Mashiro was brought into this beautiful planet. Today was not normal, at all, not even in the slightest.
I woke up to a card and a bouquet of bright colored flowers next to my bed, signed from Mom.
School was even more extravagant, the loyal fanboys that would kiss the ground I walked on were doing just that, kissing the ground I walked on as I strode up the stone pathway. It was everything but flattering, but I put up with it because today was not normal and I had to except that.
The non-normalcy continued throughout the day. I was handed the most marvelous and expensive of chocolates and on occasion a little stuffed animal that were cute to look at but got old after about ten n'tseconds.
I thought that the birthday "perks" wouldn't end, but the end of the day came like it always did, even though it took longer than usual. But it wasn't over yet; Guardian duties.
I sighed as I headed to the Royal Garden, preparing for the party that my loving friends had planned for me, that was the only thing normal on this day. I heaved open the glass door that separated the regular world from the breathtaking world of the Guardians.
I shut my eyes followed the well-known path along the abundant flowers to the back of the garden where my friends were awaiting my appearance. My feet guided me until I stepped on something that made a soft crack.
"Huh?" I said looking down at my feet.
It was a single red rose. Lying on the ground alone, not a gentle hand grasping it like there should've been. I picked up the slightly bent flower and took a whiff of it. The aroma was luxurious and nearly intoxicating. I was so entranced with the rose that I hadn't noticed that flurry of assorted flowers on the floor. They were arranged in such a way that it said perfectly Happy Birthday Rima. At the bottom of the message there was a single N crafted entirely of violets. After the air had been vacuumed from my lungs in astonishment, a small smile formed upon my lips. This "not normal" gift was not part of my not normal day.
I liked things that weren't normal.
I couldn't resist writing a birthday-fic for Rima. Please review and yada yada yada…
Happy Birthday Rima!
