Jackson and Greta are my original characters, but I don't own CSI.

It occurred to me that I hadn't written a story with Jackson, Greta and their Aunt Sara in a while. So I thought of this one. I wondered, since Greta's starting to talk a bit more, what she might say to or call Sara. So here's what I came up with. Hope you enjoy...and please review!

Sara Sidle and Jackson Sanders had been best pals since they first met. Sara always thought she and Jackson were kindred spirits - she once said they both had moms who just didn't know how to be moms. Now, since Jackson had his baby sister Greta, Sara loved getting to babysit her dear friend Greg's two children.

"Aunt Sara?" Jackson asked as they looked through a book about animals. "Did you know Greta can say 'woof' now?"

"She can?" Sara asked with a warm smile.

Jackson nodded. "Yeah. The other day, we were playing in the backyard. Scruffy barked when she wanted us to throw her ball. And Greta said "woof"!"

Sara laughed softly and smiled. "My goodness, she's really growing up, isn't she?" Both smiled at the baby girl in her playpen babbling away to her favorite toys.

"Yeah," Jackson said with a soft laugh. "We're still trying to get her to say 'Uncle Nicky', but she still calls him 'Icky'!"

Sara couldn't help but smile at the sweet little boy and baby girl she loved. She never pictured herself as a mom, but she had to admit, spending time with Jackson and Greta made her wonder if she should have kids of her own.

"Ah," Greta sighed as she reached for Sara and Jackson from her playpen. Greta reached for Jackson and said "baba!"

Jackson smiled at his sister. "Hey," he said as he got up and peered into her playpen. Greta stood and reached for her brother.

"You need some help?" Sara asked as she stood. She helped Jackson lift his baby sister.

"Thank you," Jackson said. He kissed Greta's head. "It's okay, sissy."

Sara smiled at the two children. "Nick told me you're quite a big help."

"Yeah," Jackson said as he held his sister. "Daddy and mama still do most of the stuff. And I don't like diapers."

"Mm, I don't blame you," Sara said with a soft smile.

Jackson adjusted Greta in his arms. "Aunt Sara, you want to hold her? She's kind of heavy."

"Sure," Sara said with a smile as she took the sweet baby girl. "Hey, sweetheart," Sara whispered to Greta.

"Aunt Sara, she likes to read!" Jackson happily said.

"She does?"

"Yeah! We started reading to her every night, and now she tries to read. But it just sounds like 'dada dada dada'!" Jackson said with a giggle.

Sara laughed softly. "Well, it sounds like you both are growing up to be two amazing human beings." She smiled at Jackson and kissed Greta's cheek.

"Thank you!"

Greta looked at her godmother and sighed quietly. "Ah...awa."

Sara's eyes widened and she gasped softly. Jackson smiled. "I think she's trying to say 'Aunt Sara'!"

"Yeah," Sara said with a smile. "Can you say that?" She asked Greta. "Can you say 'Aunt Sara'?"

Greta simply looked at Sara and smiled. "Awa!" she said and smiled.

Jackson and Greta smiled. "She says things in her own way," Jackson said with a smile.

"Yeah," Sara said softly. She smiled at her godchildren. She had to admit spending time with Greg's son and daughter had her thinking about having her own family someday.

Greta looked at Sara, pointed to her and smiled. "Awa," she said softly.

"Yeah," Sara said as she hugged Greta close. "You know who I am, don't you, sweetie?"

"Awa," Greta said and smiled at her godmother.

Sara smiled at the sweet baby girl. Jackson smiled at his aunt and baby sister. "She knows her Aunt Sara," he said softly.

"Awa!" Greta said as she pointed to Sara and smiled at her brother.

"Yeah," Sara said with a loving smile. She hugged Greta and Jackson. "She knows."

The End
