The Tears Were Coming Down My Face
I looked at Amanda. Her eyes started to tear up. I knew that Amanda knew that Lee was gone.
"Mishi's dead? I'm never going to see her again?" Amanda cried.
She sat down on the window edge and cried. Gibbs wrapped his arm around her and she cried into his shoulder. He whispered comforting things to her.
The tears were coming down my face and I sat at my desk. I looked at her and she held the badge close to her.
"Amanda, I know that this is hard for you. I want you to talk to Ziva. She lost her sister at a young age too. She will help you out with what you are feeling," Gibbs whispered to her.
She nodded and headed to my desk and I picked her up and held her close to me. I just let her cry while I rubbed soothing circles on her back. I sang to her in Hebrew quietly until she fell asleep.
The tears were coming down my face. A few minutes later, l walked over to Gibbs' desk and shifted Amanda in my arms.
"Should I take her up to the break room?" I asked him quietly.
"No, take her to Vance's. He has a couch in there."
I nodded and I walked up to Vance's office. I knocked on the door to make sure that there was nothing important going on in the office.
"Come in, David," Vance said through the door. I walked into the office and set Amanda on the couch.
"How is she holding up? Vance asked me.
"She is very tired and worried about what is going on. Gibbs asked me to be with her when she wakes up. As you know, I lost my sister and he knows that we can connect on some level of loss. So, it is a good idea to be with her now."
"So, she doesn't know about what Lee did?" he asked me.
I shook my head. I looked down at the little girl who had lost so much in such a short amount of time. The tears came back into my eyes.
Vance got up and walked over to his desk to get a few tissues and brought them over to me.
"Thanks." I whispered.
I looked at Amanda and stroked her hair. She didn't stir at all and just slept. There was something in her head that was making her flinch.
"Has my father called about this? I feel that he should know that she was involved in it."
"Yes, Eli has called. He does not know about Amanda. He wants to talk to you."
"I should call him then." I mumbled.
"When Amanda is gone, you will be able to."
I looked at her as she came back to reality and her eyes opened.
"Hey, tatelah." I said in a soft voice.
Amanda looked at me. "Where am I?" she asked in a small voice.
"Director Vance's office. You needed sleep so I took you up to the only room in the building that has a couch so you could sleep better."
She nodded and sat up. Vance left and we started to talk about what had happened. It was a long conversation and there were so many things that could still not be said yet. I told her about my sister and she knew that she would be ok in the end.
We got up and walked down to the squad-room to meet with her aunt.
"Thank you, Ziva. For helping me with everything that has been going on." She smiled at me.
"Your welcome."
She walked over to me and gave me a hug. I picked her up and kissed her head,
"When I grow up, I want to be just like you, Ziva. An NCIS Agent! Like Mishi was."
I put her down on the floor and took her hand in mine.
"You are welcome her anytime you want and I will always be a phone call away, tatelah"
THE END
