" We were so close Emma." Daniel said as he drops his helmet onto the floor in frustration as he sat down on the floor as he ran a hand through his hair.
"So close."
Emma took her own helmet of as she walked down the ramp and sat down beside him." Daniel look at me." Emma said as she bumped her shoulder against his.
Daniel turned his head to the side so he could look at her and she smiled as she sees the sat look that was written all over his face.
"I know you had hoped that we would have found it ,but look at the bright side.
"What bright side?" Daniel asked as he kicked to his helmet with his foot, making the helmet fly across the room.
"You still get to have the first crack at the ancient chair." Emma said with a smile on her face cause she knew he was feeling.
When SG 4 had found an ancient out post on their trip to a new planet a few mouths ago. Emma and Daniel had begged General Hammond to go there and when they finally had gotten the go ahead it had been to lat cause the planet had been attacked by the Goa´uld and the out post had been destroyed.
Daniel nodded his head before he leaned his head against her shoulder." I am pretty good."
Emma let a snort fall past her lips as she looked down at him and she sees him looking up at her with a smile." Yes you are." She said as she stood up and reached her had out for Daniel to take and he took her hand and got up and together they walked out of the gate room.
"What would i do with out you." Daniel said as he moved his arm around her shoulder as he pulls her closer towards his side.
"Lets hope you will never find out." Emma said as she moved her arm around his back.
"Oh, that is how it is?" Daniel said with a smile on his face.
"Lets face it." Emma said as they stopped in front of the elevator." You be so lost with out me." She said with a smile of her own as he doors to the elevator opened.
Two days later Emma stood in side the gate room, staring up at the gate and a smile found it´s way onto her face as she through about how her life had turned out over the past five years.
Emma had always dreamed about being an archaeologist and she had spend many hours as a kid reading books about the old Egypt and Greece, she would spend her hours in high school dreaming how it would have be if she could have visits Egypt and seeing how the Gods had built their great empires our seeing the Greek amazons in action.
Little dose she knows that 15 years later, she would meet a man that would chance her whole world up side down and that man would be Daniel Jackson. Daniel would chance the way she would look at archaeologist, she would travel true the galaxy via a wormhole, visiting other planets, that once had been inhabited by ancestors from earth and she would fight against the same gods she once had dreamed about meeting and she would not trade it for anything in the world.
Emma had meet some great people and made some good friends through the time with the stargate program. Jack O´Nell, he was like the father she had always wanted growing up. Jack was a great leader and a great man and Emma was glad she could call him a friend.
Samantha Cater was a great astrophysicist and a engineer, but most of all she was one of Emma´s closest friends, and then their was Teal´c. It had surprised everyone when Emma and Teal´c had hit it off right of the bat. Emma liked to think it was because they both had a love for sci-fi and they both liked to meditate.
Teal´c had taught Emma how to fight and he helped her to learn about the Goa´uld and she was really proud she could call Teal´c her friend, and then there was Daniel Jackson. Daniel sees things in people that others might over look and Emma has an enormous amount of respect and admiration for him, she didn´t know what she would do with out him.
"Emma."
Emma turned her head to see General Hammond standing there beside her.
"Sir."
"Daniel need you, so get ready to leave within the hour." Hammond tells her.
"Yes, sir." Emma said as she quickly looked back to the gate before she turns her head and walks out of the gate room.
Later that same day at the out post. Emma looked up from the notes she had been looking at for the past few hours as she heard Daniel voice out side the room she was in.
"We gotten closer and closer to finding the location of the lost city, but it turns out we been looking in the wrong place all along."
"We?" Emma heard an all to familiar voice asking as they walked inside the room.
"Heya Rodney." Emma said with a smile on her face as she leaned her back against the table.
"Oh, you." Rodney said with an annoyed look showing on his face as he sees her standing there.
"Yes, it is me." Emma said with a even bigger smile on her face as she folded her arms across her chest as she turns her head to look at the woman that stood beside Rodney.
"Doctor Wire."
"Emma." Wire said.
"So you said something about looking in the wrong place?" Rodney said as he kept his eyes locked with Emma´s.
"We thought we had a stargate address-six symbols representing space coordinates, the location of the planet the ancients when to after the left Antarctica." Daniel said as he walked towards a black board and wrote down some symbols.
"Now recently we determined the seventh symbol." Daniel said as he turned back around so he could look at the others as he pointed to the symbol on the black board.
"The point of origin, Earth," Rodney said.
"That is not it." Emma said as she took a drink from the cup she had between her hands.
"Then your address must be incorrect." Rodney said as he looked between Emma and Daniel.
"Not incorrect, incomplete." Daniel said as he looked towards Emma with a smile on his face.
"What are you saying Doctor Jackson?" Wire asked with a smile of her own.
"It´s an eight-symbol address." Emma said.
Daniel turned back around and wrote down some new symbols down." What we are looking for may be further away then we imagined, but not out of reach ." Daniel said as he turned back to see the stunned looked on Wire´s and Rodney´s faces.
"Atlantis?" Rodney said.
"Atlantis." Daniel said as he looked towards Emma before turning to Wire." And i think we can go there."
Emma was about to say something when, when a young marine walked into the room to let them know Jack was on his way down and Emma turned back towards Daniel with a smile on his face as she sees Daniel running out of the room, she shook her head as she looks down at her stack of papers and she can feels eyes on her and she looks up to find Wire looking at her.
"I already gave you my answer Elisabeth."
"I know." Elisabeth said as she walked closer to Emma." But i was hoping you would have chanced your mind."
"If anyone should be going, it should be Daniel not me."
"Yeah, but you..."
"Jack!" Emma said as she sees Jack walking into the room with Daniel and Rodney following closely behind him.
"Emma." Jack said as he sat down on the chair beside her and looked around the room to see all of the staring at him." So?" Jack said as he turned towards Daniel.
"OH, right." Daniel said as he walked towards the black board and pointed to the symbols on it." We figure the ancient picked their city and left somewhere between five and 10 million years ago."
Jack turned towards Emma with a raised eyebrow." In their flying city?"
Emma nodded her head at the same time as Daniel said yes and Jack looked between they two of them like they had lost their minds.
"What?" Daniel asked with an annoyed look on his face as he stared at Jack.
"In their flying city?" Jack asked not quit believing what he was hearing.
"Jack, this is the race that built the stargate, the did everything big." Emma said.
"So, why did they leave?" Jack asked as he turned back to Daniel.
"We know that the ancient on earth was suffering from a plauge or maybe some of them where trying to start over in a new galaxy."
"The point is Jack." Emma said as she walked over and stood beside Daniel." We know where they went." Emma said as she pointed to the symbols on the black board.
"Pegasus?"
"Yeah, it is a name of a galaxy in the local group." Daniel told him.
"After all this time, is there any chance of actually meeting them." Rodney said as he looked over at Daniel.
"Well who knows, but is that not enough of a reason to go?" Daniel said as he looked towards Jack with a hopeful look on his face.
"I have been choosing members for this expedition for mouth´s doctor. I am not the one who needs convincing." Elisabeth says with a smile.
"I am convinced. Have fun." Jack said as he looked around the room.
"It´s a little more complicated them that Jack." Daniel says.
"We need the Zed-P.M. to power the gate." Rodney said as he looked over at Jack.
"The what?" Jack asked as he looked up at Emma with a confused look on his face.
"ZPM." Emma said." He is Canadian." Emma said as she nodded her head over at Rodney.
"No." Jack said as he looked between Emma and Daniel.
Emma was about to open her mouth, but she stopped as she heard someone calling out for Jack, turning her head she sees Carson stopping in the doorway as he tried to catch his breath.
"What is it?" Jack asked.
"Come quick." Carson said he turned and ran and everyone in the room followed after him into the room where the ancient chair was and Emma sees a man sitting in the chair.
"Who is this?" Elisabeth asked as she pointed her hand towards the man.
"I told you not to touch anything." Jack said as he walked towards man and stops right in front of him.
"I..I just sat down." The man said with a shocked look showing on his face.
"Who is that?" Emma asked.
"John Sheppard. He is the pilot." Jack said as he kept his eyes on John.
"Hey John." Emma said as she walk over and stood beside Jack." Can you tell me where we are in the solar system?" Emma asked.
"What?" John asked with a confused look on his face cause he could not understand why she was asking him these questions.
"Where in the solar system are we?" Emma asked again, but this time she had taken a step closer so she could place her hand on top of his and John turned his head so he was looking into her eyes and a second later a picture of the solar system appeared in bright blue light above their heads.
"Did i do that?" John asked as he looked up at the lights.
"Yeah, you sure did." Emma said as she turned her head towards Jack." Can we have the ZPM now?" She said with a smile on her face.
"Oh, hell." Jack said with a shake of his head." You can have the ZPM." He said as he turned and walked out of the room and the others followed after him.
"What just happened?" John asked as he looked at the woman in front of him.
"Because of you, Elisabeth get´s to go." Emma said as she turned back to look at John.
"Go where?"
"Atlantis."
John was about to say something when the both looked towards the door when someone called out and Emma turned and was about to walk away when all of the sudden someone grabbed a hold of her wrist and she turned her head to see John getting out of the chair as he kept holding on to her.
"Do i get to know your name?" He asked with a smile on his face.
"Emma Rose, but my friends calls me Emma."
"John."
"I know." Emma said with a smile on her face and they stood there looking at each other." You can let go now?"
"What?" John asked with a confused look on his face and he followed her eyes and sees he was still holding on the her wrist.
"Sorry." John said as he let go of her wrist.
"It was nice to meet you, John." Emma said as she turned and walked out of the room.
"You to." John said as he watched her walk out of the room.
Elisabeth was walking along side Jack as they walked towards the elevator.
"The best-case scenario, we meet ancient who are willing to help us, but if we don´t." Elisabeth said as she stopped in front of him, blocking his path of the elevator." General we need him."
"Sorry, doc. I need Daniel here." Jack said as he walked around her.
"I am talking about major Sheppard."
Jack stopped in his tracks and turned around to look at her." Don´t you have dozen or so people, who can use ancient technology?"
"Yeah, but John Sheppard dose it naturally."
"I have checked his record." Jack said.
"I know about the whole supposed black mark in Afghanistan. He was trying to save the lives of three service men."
"Disobeying a direct order."
"I have seen your own file General, please." Elisabeth said with a smile on her face.
"Right." Jack said." It is your expedition, you want him you ask him." Jack tells her as he steps in side of the elevator.
"There is one more thing General." Elisabeth said as she stopped Jack from closing the doors to the elevator.
"What?"
"I want Emma."
"Really?" Jack asked as he stepped out of the elevator.
"Emma reads and talks ancient not many people do that and i know you saw what happened between her and the major."
"I will talk to her, but i can´t promise you anything." Jack said as he steps back inside the elevator.
"Thank you, General."
"Don´t thank me yet." Jack said as he closed the elevator doors.
