My name is Zacara J. Williams and I would like to tell you my story, I'm am Writing this down at night so I don't have multiple entries in a day except for a few days until I get all of this last months breakthroughs down.
I woke up that first morning in the barracks like everyday, I went through drills, However that day they held a vote to pick the most talented 15 marines for a secret program-I disregarded it as a glorified week of luxury at home-I was picked as the third member along with my ex-girlfriend Sikira and one of my friends, Tristan, were picked on that first day of 5 to pick the members. As the days went on I saw more and more stress arise from the others thinking if they didn't get in they would be sent off to fight a suicide battle against the rebels. After they had gotten everyone they brought us all to the secret training facility on Reach for outfitting in our gear and other training that we needed. We were outfitted in armor that a Warthog-though personally it looks like a Puma to me-would be jealous of, though they gave me and 12 lightweight recon armor-which has a bunch of pockets for what I assume is for ammo-. They began to train us in the use of our armor and within a week we were running the advanced course in under 1:30, They said our first test would be to survive in the wilderness without any outside contact, with only what we brought with us-which considering the circumstances they said we'd face, not much-and any resources we could scavenge.
We began after a simulated Pelican crash landing leaving us stranded in the middle of Reach's wilderness, Sikira began to take charge and got us all in line and got us orders of what to do, as she said "If we are staying here a week, it better be a comfortable week." The most interesting thing that happened was this squid-like thing approaching our camp but we ignored it, though I kept watch just incase, It curiously looked at what we had made and began to leave into the forest before I approached it with some berries, it made a sound before it began to eat them. Sikira had noticed what I was doing and quickly shot the thing, killing it instantly "What the Hell Zac, this isn't a petting zoo where you can just give away food like that!" She walked over here yelling "Hey it was just looking around, it looked hungry so I gave it some food" I said, Sikira rolled her eyes "Why not focus on your duty to make sure no dangerous animals come into our camp. It was a rather boring week after that, though Sikira brought the squid thing's corpse onto the Exfil Pelican back with us for study as not even her-a woman with much experience in the wilderness-hadn't seen one before.
