So this is how I think Dani last episode in season 5 should go. Cause I want he back in season 6 or in later episode because I love Dantana.
Prologue
"I… I got a call from my parents," Dani started, she and Santana were curled up on the couch while Rachel and Kurt were in their rooms.
"Oh? Is everything okay? I mean I know you guys had a falling out and.." Santana trailed off, not knowing where the discussion was leading them.
"IT's better than okay, they want to reconnect with me. They apologized and everything," Dani said softly.
"That's great! When do they come?" Santana asked and smiled at Dani.
"That's the thing… I'm actually going to them," Dani said quietly.
"Oh cool, where's that?" Santana asked, suddenly feeling dread over come her. this wasn't going to be good.
"Dallas…. Texas," Dani mumbled. It was silent for a while. Dani finally looked up to see Santana staring straight ahead expressionless. "San," Dani started, but Santana stood and started pacing.
"That's… that's half way across the country Dani," Santana said, her voice shaking.
"I know, I know it is, but Santana it's my family. I miss them so much and they finally are giving me a chance, they are trying to understand and accept me Santana, you have to know how important this is to me," Dani said trying to calm her girlfriend. Santana stopped pacing and looked at the ground.
"How long?" Santana asked, Dani looked at her confused.
"What?" Dani asked.
"How long will you be gone?" Santana asked again and looked at her with saddened eyes. Dani stood and bit her bottom lip.
"I'm not sure… a few months, a year," Dani muttered. Santana let out a breathy laugh.
"A year… a year," Santana said incredulous. They stood silent for a moment longer. "Go," Santana said with a sigh. Dani looked up with unshed tears in her eyes. Santana looked at her and smiled sadly before walking over to her. Santana grabbed Dani's hands and held them.
"You should go and reconcile with your family. I know that if my grandmother was to ever call me and say she would like to understand and apologize I would jump on the chance. You have that chance and you shoud take it," Santana said softly to Dani.
"Really?" Dani asked looking into Santana's deep brown eyes.
"Really. When… when do you leave?" Santana asked.
"Tomorrow afternoon… I'm already packed and I just needed to tell you," Dani said. Santana nodded and rested her forehead against Dani's.
"I'm going to miss you," Santana mumbled.
"Me too. Is this… are we breaking up?" Dani asked, her voice shaking.
"No. of course not. I would wait an eternity to be with you, I'll always love you and I'll be waiting for you to come home to me. When you return I'll be here with open arms ready to kiss you hello," Santana whispered. Dani smiled and leaned up and kissed Santana gently. Santana pulled Dani into an embrace and they stayed like that for a while before shutting everything off in the living room and heading for bed where they cuddle and whispered longing 'I love yous".
