Grey

Grey stands for the feeling that shot through her body as she watched them fall to the floor, soaked in blood. As she watched her mother and father die…right in front of her eyes.

It was as though every color in her world had left, nothing left but grey. It was as though all meaning in her life was gone and replaced with an empty color…

Green

Green…the color of his eyes was green. His green eyes flashed angrily as he stabbed them repeatedly, over and over. He was saving her. And those green eyes were filled with more emotion then she had ever seen.

And as her world slowly got color, it was shaded with green.

Brown

The color of a dying flower. As Mikasa charged foreword, a knife in her hand, that was the color that flashed through her head.

That's what death was. It was when something beautiful was stained with something that would change it forever.

And so, like the dying flowers in Mikasa's yard at winter, the color that went through her head was brown

Blue

The color of water…the color of what she used to wash herself clean. She was getting a fresh start. She was cleaning herself from the pain and was going to begin again.

And as Mikasa let them lead her home, with the teardrops slipping down her face, the color of the beautiful ponds she had seen in the forest by her house flooded her mind.

Orange

The color of the uniform he wore before rushing off to battle. Before she lost her family again. The color of the uniform that had practically screamed his fate.

Mikasa fell to her knees.

'The world is a cruel place…but it's also…beautiful…'

Red

The color of the blood around them. The color of the scarf she was holding in her hand as she smiled.

She was sure that they were going to die. She was almost positive. But since this was going to be their last, why not make this memory a good one?

So she thanked him for everything he had done for her.

And the only color that she thought of, was red.
