Disclaimer: I do not own Kuroshitsuji or any of it's characters, the events that take place are purely fictional and are not to be confused with the actual storyline.

He loved her for the clothes she wore and personality she played, not for the rain inside her soul. That part of her he didn't see, he couldn't be bothered to look. Angelina was entirely convinced all her troubles were over the night she had first met him. It was easy to let herself believe the butler could fill her with a happiness she hadn't known since childhood. At times Grell could do that and more but for every moment Angelina eagerly gave her heart to him there was hours of rain to pay whenever he advanced miles ahead in the game and didn't care to notice she was lost. Never once did he hold her hand just to remind Angelina that she now had other places to look than the pouring rain. Grell didn't feel as she did and that much was clear from the beginning, what was numerous heartbreak and first-hand knowledge on all forms of suffering to a creature that was promised infinity? Maybe that's what was hurting her most. Knowing that even though he could be hurt he had forever to wait out the worst of the pain and watch the scars fade. She didn't, she had one life to live, no one to spend it with and no longer had the ability to pass on life. Though she had sacrificed so much there was always more to pay and Angelina didn't know why, she had sacrificed her very happiness and there was still always more to be taken.

Sometimes, increasingly with every passing day such questions and their likely answers no longer mattered. More and more she began to accept that this was her life and she could continue against all odds with hope of something more or live with regrets, too afraid to chance what could be waiting through the rain. Grell helped with her motivation to push the limits in more ways than he could have known. The butler was the very way Angelina had always wanted to be, full of confidence, optimism and so very happy all the time. There were times that she could see the more complex side to him, his loving and vibrant tendancies were a mask to a much more calculating and vicious nature than she cared to ponder on. Still, she felt joy to look at him, right in his arms, and truly happy when he returned her smile, even more when it was with his true teeth she was thankful for that honesty. It was certainly more than she would ever grant him, Angelina believed to express how at times she felt so empty and miserable would be to lose Grell forever and was having a hard time dealing with hiding it from him. For now she was more than content to share her life with him as long as he would stay. She would eagerly give him her soul for if he asked so long as he would accept her in his arms. Somedays Angelina wondered if it could be wrong to love a man so entirely when the soul he possessed, if any, could be compared accurately to frost. Other times, in fact most times, she was sure it was a worse despair than any other to love a creature that she knew did not love her back. Though she knew the realtionship was one sided and delicate as glass it was the happy moments that kept made her stay, happiness that eluded her all her life, that had invited all to dance however briefly but her, Angelina was on the outside looking in all her life. This time Angelina would not hesitate to pay any price to keep dancing until the act was at an end and the curtains fell, this once was all she had.

Authors Note: Yeah it's short but it just came to mind like this, (listeneing to Red Rain could have done something to it as well I guess) It is my first uploaded Kuroshitsuji. I wanted to write something for Madam Red. I really liked her character and was sad to see her go so soon.
