Bedtime Stories

Jace searched the Institute, looking for Clary, his girlfriend. He loved saying that. Although, it didn't feel like they were just some average couple. Being together felt like a better word to describe their relationship.

Finally, he found Clary slumbering peacefully in their bedroom. Her fiery red curls lit up the room, framing her porcelain face. She seemed so fragile. Dainty. But Jace knew better. When you really pissed Clary off, she was one of the most powerful Shadowhunters out there.

He sat on the bed and reached out to touch her, but before his fingers grazed her arms, she spoke an inaudible, "Hi."

"By the Angel, Clary, you've slept half the day away. You're spending more time on that bed than with me," Jace playfully scolded her with a fake frown.

"Is someone jealous?" Clary yawned, turning over to face Jace. The light from the window reflected off his golden strands of hair, momentarily blinding her. She curled her legs in and rested her head on his lap.

"Tell me a story," Clary murmured sleepily. Jace ran his hand down her strawberry locks. She was just so adorable.

"Once upon a time, there lived a prince. He was amazingly gorgeous and good looking. Women across the castle swooned at his name. They fainted at his smile. Some were driven to madness by his muscular-"

"Jace!" Clary snapped. He chuckled and continued.

"On the other side of the land, there lived a fair maiden with bright red locks. Some people thought she'd hit her head and the blood was soaked up by her hair-"

"Seriously. Remind me to never ask for a story again," Clary interrupted.

"One day, the maiden was walking through the forests when suddenly, a big hair monster named..."

"Sebastian!" chimed in Clary. Jace froze at his name, but pressed on.

"Er, Sebastian, kidnapped her. The prince happened to be taking a stroll and saw the beast run off with the girl. She was so breathtakingly beautiful that the sun shone brighter on her." Jace paused, waiting for Clary to interject some type of comment. She stayed silent.

"The prince just had to rescue her! So, using his amazing fighting skills, he slayed the beast's head and rescued the fair maiden. In return, the girl kissed him and they lived happily ever after," Jace finished.

Clary burst into laughter. "I don't think I'll be able to sleep again."

Jace arched an eyebrow. "Unimpressed with my story telling? Nobody likes a critic," he teased.

"Although, I did like the ending," Clary added, a sly grin on her face.

"Hm?"

Clary pulled Jace's face near her own and brushed her lips on his, eventually deepening the kiss. Her hands winded into his golden hair while his fingers ran lightly up and down her back.

"I'm guessing you did like the story, then?"

Liked it? Hated it? Review anyways! Lol, thanks for reading. :D
