Just how the reason I think Dick was so willing to meet Zatanna.

Don't own anyone.

Bruce noticed the boy needed some time to relax. He was ten at that time and worked himself more than any of the so called men Bruce knew.

'Let me take you out.' The boy had just finished taking French with Alfred; Bruce had thought then was the perfect time to strike.

The boy, who rarely got these moments from his dad, shrugged and got his coat.

….

Alfred opted to drive but Bruce thought otherwise. This time it was going to be just him and the boy.

The drive was lengthy but filled with a spirited conversation, another thing the boy never got from his dad.

They stopped at a circus. A circus? Did the Dark Knight not think it was too soon for that? If he did he definitely didn't show it.

The bright lights sparked the words Zatara.

That was it.

Just Zatara.

The boy wondered what or who was Zatara.

The owner? The prized animal? The main act?

Bruce paid for the tickets and they sat down with the best possible view of the show.

…...

The boy couldn't lie they were still wounds, but the circus itself was amazing. The lions, the clowns, the oddballs, everything.

Kind of like magic.

The show couldn't have gotten better in his eyes, until they announced that Zatara and a special visitor were coming.

That perked the boy's interest. Finally he could see exactly what or who this Zatara person was.

A man of dark hair and crisp blue eyes came out, following him was a small creature ,

No, it was a girl.

A girl who was more or less his age, and wherever it was her smirk or her love of the crowd or the fact that she seemed so happy.

She definitely was the most enrapturing thing on the show.

'I am the amazing Zatara .' He took his daughter's hand and raised it up for everyone to see her perfect skin. 'And a warm welcome to my daughter Zatanna.'

…...

The boy couldn't explain how much he loved the show, his favorite part was of no doubt Zatanna's. She made it look like real magic. Like she actually was at three places at once.

The boy was of course delighted when she found out that Bruce knew Zatara. Very well actually. Actually the boy was quite ecstatic about it; he might have the opportunity to have a better look at the Zatanna girl.

Bruce found his way to the dressing room with ease; Bruce and Zatara greeted themselves like the good friends they were. The boy chose to stay hidden from Zatara, a reason Bruce didn't understand exactly why but respected his wishes to stay in the shadows.

'Your daughter looks exactly like you.' Bruce joked. 'She has the same edge that I have if you understand what I'm saying.' Zatara replied and Bruce understood.

'I know someone who would love to meet her-' Bruce looked around for the boy. He seemed to have disappeared. When funnily enough, only a few minutes ago he seemed so excited of the possibility of meeting Zatara's daughter.

Zatara looked bemused. 'Don't worry there will probably be another time.' Bruce said. 'I'll have to be own my way, nice to see you again Zatara.' The men shook hands.

...…..

Robin couldn't believe it, here she was again. The same girl who he was to shy to talk to as a kid, the girl who took all his attention with only her blue eyes.

The girl who got away.

She was back like fate put them together, and now he had wasn't the same shy ten year old anymore.

'Robin! I mean my name is Robin.'

Yup he wasn't that same shy ten year old.

He was now a nervous thirteen year old.

Much Better.

Hope you enjoyed it. R&R :D.
