"I'm done."

Her words were clear, albeit rather defeated, but Mimi wasn't able to find it in her to care much. The words had taken what was left of her courage, of her pride. Mimi Lockhart (Brady) was officially done. With her marriage, her husband, her best-friend. With just about any and every thing that involved one and/or the other.

Shawn looked up at her in confusion, seated at Dot-Com while he and Belle (Mimi's best friend and rival) caught up with what happened in the other's life (something they do weekly, which aggravated her). He opened his mouth, but Belle had beaten him to it.

"With what, exactly, Meems?" Her voice was coated with false concern. A triumphant and knowing glint in Belle's eyes.

Mimi rolled her eyes at the other woman and instead focused on her husband. She fingered the wedding band on her finger before she slipped it off and placed it inside his open palm. She closed his hand around the band and gave him a sad smile.

Shawn's confusion gave away to hurt and sadness.

"Mimi-"

She shook her head. "I can't do this anymore," she told him. Her eyes glistened with tears she refused to let fall. She was not going to give Belle the satisfaction of watching her cry. She took a deep breath to calm herself and gave his closed fist a squeeze. "There were always three people in this marriage, Shawn. You, me, and Belle. I refuse to put up with that anymore."

Shawn said nothing.

Belle, however, was never one to stay quiet.

"Meems, you're making a mistake."

Nor was she ever the one to show her true colors.

Mimi was certain that her friend was beyond excited with the news. Mimi was letting Shawn go, which meant that Belle was finally able to have her dream come true: to marry Shawn and have a family. But Belle was never going to let her lesser self show. To the public she was a saint, her indiscretions and petty jealousies hidden from prying eyes. Of course, Mimi knew better. She knew everything. Belle was selfish. She wanted nothing else but to have Shawn, regardless of who gets hurt in the process.

And Mimi laughed at her words.

"I made a mistake the day I married Shawn," she revealed. She ignored the obvious hurt in his eyes. She shrugged, "He was still in-love with you. I knew that and regardless, I married him. Because I thought he would get over you. Because I thought I was enough. Apparently, I was wrong."

Shawn stood from his seat and grabbed her arms, shaking her. "You are enough!" He told her, his voice adamant. When Mimi opened her mouth to dismiss his words, he pulled her into his arms and crushed her against his body. "You are enough and I love you, Miriam Brady." He whispered into her ear. Tears had begun to run down his cheeks.

Mimi shook her head and pushed against him. "You love Belle-"

"I'm in-love with YOU!"

"Are you?" Mimi wasn't convinced.

"Of course I am!"

Mimi arched a brow. She was going to test him. "Enough to leave Belle?"

Shawn faltered at the request.

And he failed her.

Mimi sighed and stepped further away from him. "You can't, can you?"

"Mimi-"

"The divorce papers should arrive in the mail. Send them back to the attorneys." She turned around and began to walk away...

"I'll leave Belle, I'll do anything!" Shawn finally promised, desperation in his voice.

Mimi wasn't convinced. "No, you won't. Goodbye, Shawn."

"MIMI!"

He yelled for her, but she was already out the door and climbing into the waiting taxi cab that would take her out of Salem and onto her new life.

She finally let her tears fall.

"Goodbye, Shawn."
