A/N: A slight, vague spoiler for chapters 123 - 126. Written for the Drabbleday community on LJ, the prompt was "Free fall." This is my first Nodame fic, so any and all concrit greatly appreciated!
Any minute now.
Nodame wasn't sure still how she ended up sitting in Milch's private jet, her mind remained numb to the hustle and bustle of the famous conductor and his infamous antics. All that mattered was that they were heading towards London, and away from Chiaki senpai. As much as it hurted to walk away, she realized it was time to stand on her own two feet.
He had always been there to catch her, to provide a way out when she hit another road block. But this time, the road block was he himself. And senpai was no longer there to catch her, it was time for Nodame to find her own strength. It will be a gift in thanks for all that he had done, for all that they had shared. The tears came unbidden, and Nodame lets it run freely down her cheeks.
It would have to be enough.
Any minute now, my ship is coming in
I'll keep checking the horizon
I'll stand on the bow, feel the waves come crashing
Come crashing down down down, on me
