Elastigirl was sitting worried beside a hospital bed that Violet occupied. She had tried to protect herself and her mom from a falling object, but was unable to project a force field, having used up most of her energy fighting some bad guys. As a result, the object fell on her and crushed both of her legs. Elastigirl quickly rushed her to the hospital. Violet was still unconscious due to the impact of the debris. Elastigirl watched her closely before she started to wake.
"Violet, you're awake!" Elastigirl said with glee.
Violet looked and smiled when she saw her, "Hey, Mom. Are you okay?" she asked.
Elastigirl nodded before she told her, "Violet, listen. Your legs were broken really badly. You won't be able to fight crime with us for about two weeks." with a sorrowful face.
Violet looked sad before she sighed, "Well, I guess that's to be expected. I'm just the little weakling who is just a bother to the rest of the team." she said before she started to cry.
Elastigirl frowned as she walked over and put her hands on Violet's shoulders, getting her to look at her.
"Sweetie, listen to me. Just because you don't physically fight much doesn't mean you're weak. You managed to survive this accident, which I and everyone else are grateful for. You have more power than you realize. Trust me, you do. You didn't just survive this by a miracle, you survived through pure willpower. Your will to do good and win battles is what gives you the strength to be the best you can be. Surviving a building falling on top of you is outstanding, especially for someone your age. You also have proven your strength over the course of our adventures and battles with The Omnidroid and Screenslaver. In fact, if it hadn't been for you helping out, we wouldn't be breathing or legal right now. I'm so proud of you, Violet Parr, and I always will be. You're a miracle God gave to me. You gave me strength when I was weak, and for that, I will always love you and be proud of you, no matter what. I promise you that, my little girl." Elastigirl said with a wide smile.
Violet looked at her before she smiled widely and hugged her mother around the neck and cried happily into her shoulder. Elastigirl smiled, shedding tears of her own as she hugged her little girl back before she gave her a kiss on the forehead.
After they separated, Elastigirl said, "Good news. The doctors said you can go home tonight, now that they've bandaged your legs up." before she walked over and hoisted Violet onto her back.
"Just like when I was little." Violet said with a smile before Elastigirl took her out of the hospital and all the way back home. Once they were back, she tucked Violet into bed and the two of them exchanged smiles.
"I love you, Mom." Violet said.
"I love you too, Violet." Elastigirl said before she gave her another kiss on the forehead and bid her good night before heading to her own bed.
