A short Kaimiwa fic, because I've been drowning in Kaimiwa feels lately XP don't worry, I'm still working on the next chapter of Reunited Love, I'm just having a bit of a creative block.

This was a prompt from a friend on Tumblr.

Another school day ended for the students of Hitsue high school. Nothing out of the ordinary happened, just like the day before, and most likely the same thing tomorrow. One student in particular was never interested in school, even if something interesting was happening. As he heard the final bell of the day sound throughout the building, he quickly gathered his things and left the classroom without a single word. He passed by other students, many talking with each other about trivial things like what they were planing to do after school. He didn't care, he just wanted to get home. As he left the building, to his surprised it started raining. At first it was just spitting, but very quickly it became a downpour. Others around him had umbrellas, and those who didn't shared with the others. He saw couples under the same umbrella, laughing and flirting and doing what couples would normally do. He sighed. He was just going to have to bear it. At least he could change when he got home. But before he could make even a single step out into the wet courtyard, he heard a familiar chipper voice.

"Yo, Kai!"

He turned slightly to see his annoyingly perky blond childhood friend, Miwa Taishi. He smiled widely as he walked over to the brunet.

"I thought you'd still be here. Don't tell me you were thinking of walking home in the rain?"

Kai turned back, grunting in annoyance. Miwa chuckled.

"Guess someone didn't read the weather forecast this morning. Then again, I wouldn't expect you to. But don't worry," he pulled out a navy medium sized umbrella from behind his back, "I've gotcha covered!"

"And why would I walk home with you?"

"Aw come on Kai, do you really want to get soaking wet? Plus it's really cold, and I doubt you'd want to get your cards wet." Kai still wouldn't budge. Then Miwa got an idea.

"You know, if you walked home by yourself you could get sick. And if you got sick, then I would have to come over every day until you felt better." Kai cringed at the idea. Having Miwa take care of him was the last thing he wanted. No matter how much of a mate he was, that just couldn't happen, not by a long shot. He didn't think he could handle it. He grabbed the umbrella from the blond's grasp and opened it, then proceeded to walk away. "There we go- ah, hey, wait for me!" Miwa called out as he ran after Kai. Soon he caught up, and the two of them walked together.
