Chapter 1: Just Another Days Fights

"Zack what's going on here?" I asked stepping toward him. I was on my way home but when I rounded the corner and I seen my boyfriend, Zack, cornering another girl in the corner.

"Sango I thought you had to stay in to study." he said driving his attention towards me and giving the girl enough room and time to get out of the way before he noticed she was gone.

"I did, but then I thought of doing it another day, so I could come surprise see you." I replied and quickly added "I am done with this."

I turned away and started walking home when I heard his footsteps coming at me. I felt the presence of his arm and pulled away as quickly as I could so he could not touch me. I picked up my pace and started running faster, with every step to my house. When I got there I slammed the door and ran up to my room.

"Why does this always happen to me" I mumbled feeling the urge to cry and the salty liquid start to form on the brim of my eye lid.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked up to see my best friend, Miroku. He looked down at me with his dark blue eye's and I could see that he was filled concern. He wiped away the tear that fell down my cheek with one swift movement of his finger, then gentle kissed my forehead.

"What always happens to you?" he asked in a whisper and I could help but smile.

"I found Zack cheating on me." I replied sitting up and immediately Miroku pulled me into his arms letting me rest my head against his chest.

"Again?" He grumbled

I bit my bottom lip unsure of how to answer. Zack and I have been in a lot of fights and most of them had been because I found him cheating but, each time I gave him another chance. Miroku really hated that and he was always trying to convince me to get another boyfriend but there was no one else like Zack.

"Miroku, I know you hate him but there could be a good reason" I said looking up at him with my puppy eye's that always seemed to get him.

"There is no good reason for what he did to you and I don't even know why you give him so many chances or even go out with after all that he has done." he protested and for once I couldn't argue.

"I know." I said letting my eye's flutter close.

Miroku had always been right, even from the beginning when we first met. He was the only one that truly understood me. Not even my best friend Kagome understood me as well as Miroku but, that never seemed to surprise anyone. Miroku was one of the closet people to me and my family didn't even care if he stayed over here with me at night. That was because they came to love him, just as I had.

"Sango, you know what you have to do but the question is are you going to be willing to do it?" Asked Miroku. His hot breath was on me neck making chills run down my back. He felt me shiver and pulled me closer to his chest.

"I know but I don't want to, I guess you could say" I said and added "There is no one out there like Zack"

"Yes but there is someone better then him that will treat you better" Said Miroku

I sighed in defeat, once again he was right and there was no way I was going to argue. I was exhausted from a long day of school and just wanted to sleep it off. Miroku knew what I meant when I didn't argue and just let me fall asleep in his arms like he had done so many times before.
