Chapter 1: The First Meeting

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter and accept no credit towards it.

Warning: this chapter contains very mild language (bloody, etc) but later chapters will probably have more severe swear words. I will, however, put a language warning before each chapter that needs it.

Hope you enjoy the first chapter!

The First Meeting

The first time Lily Evans meets James Potter, she's young and naive and he's brash and irresponsible and, if she's being honest, he's a complete idiot.

He falls right at her feet, squashing her toes, after a curly haired Pureblood knocks into him and he barely even looks at her, let alone apologises, before he's up and gone, yelling after his attacker.

"Sirius! Hey, Sirius, mate, that's not funny!"

Sev wants to hex him but Lily won't let her best friend (even if he's made Tuney hate her) get into trouble because of a stupid boy with messy black hair and big brown eyes and expensively tasteful glasses- not that she was taking note or anything.

James Potter is not the sort of person Lily finds herself wanting to associate with and so she's greatly ruffled to find herself sharing a bloody train compartment with him and his just-as-arrogant friend, Sirius.

(Cocky toerags)

She completely ignores him and folds her arms stubbornly, staring out the window in adamant determination that she will not be polite and make conversation.

But he doesn't even notice her, doesn't even think to apologise.

(See, he's just as rude as she thought he was)

Sev slides in a few minutes after and starts talking about Slytherin and that peaks Lily's interest because she's always been fascinated by Hogwarts ever since she got her letter.

In the corner, Sirius scoffs. Lily gives him a glare harder than ice.

But that bleeding James Potter apparently can't keep his mouth shut (but still can't lower himself to apologise) and he makes fun of Sev, her best friend, and so she shots him her most scathing look (she's learnt well from Petunia), grabs Sev's arm, and pulls him out of the carriage, away from James and Sirius and stupid, bloody Gryffindors.

She hopes that she's not in the same house as James.

Seven years just being in the same class as Potter sounds horrendous, never mind sharing a common room.

Yeah, it was pretty short. Don't worry, the later chapters will definitely become lengthier; this is more of a test to see if people enjoy it and would like to read more.

Once I update the next chapter, I will inform you lovely people of my updating schedule (which will probably be once a week but I will confirm soon).

All of these one-shots are canon and for the most part chronological but they are not all necessarily sequels to the one previous.

Thank you so much for reading! If you could leave a review, it would make my day.
