Dear Tom Riddle
Chapter One
I sat at the kitchen table. Mum was busy hurrying dad out the door to go to the Ministry, and Fred and George were enchanting each other's eggs to rise and then fall back on their plates. "Boys!" mum hissed, "You aren't supposed to do magic outside of school!"
"Aw, come on mum," started Fred. "Yeah!" chimed George, "It was only a small bit." Mum scoffed and went to enchant the dishes to do themselves.
"Do we get to learn that kind of magic at school?" I asked my twin brothers. "Of course, Gin," they said simultaneously. I couldn't wait for my first day. I had been dreaming of going to Hogwarts since Bill got back from his first year. I had watched all six of my brothers get their letters and go off to school while I stayed home.
My older brother, Ron, got his acceptance letter last year and even rode the train with Harry Potter! Ron doesn't know it, but I took the picture he brought back of Harry and him in the Daily Prophet. I had tore the picture in half, and buried the half with Ron in it, and stashed the half with Harry's picture under my pillow. I take it out every night so I can wave goodnight to Harry before I fall asleep. His smile gazes back at me in the black-and-white photograph and I blow him a kiss before I drift off to sleep. Ron said that if I stopped being a git, maybe he'd introduce me to him.
Ron, Fred and George have been teasing me all summer about Harry. I couldn't help it that he's an amazing wizard with perfect green eyes. This was one reason why I sometimes preferred Percy over my other brothers. While Percy acted like an idiot on occasions, he never makes fun of me.
After breakfast, I walked to my room and sat on my bed. On my nightstand was my acceptance letter. I kept reading it over and over again.
Dear Miss Weasley,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
I glanced at the written words. Fred and George often joked that I wouldn't be accepted at Hogwarts and I'd be sent to the snooty school, Beaxbatons Academy, where they said Percy should have been sent.
But I, Ginny Molly Weasley was accepted at Hogwarts. I was going to be taught
How to be a witch.
