Quitters

A two parter from moi!

Mikey wasn't a quitter.

He had continued to program his computer, even after a code broke and he had to work for six hour straight to fix it.

He had continued to play wheelchair basketball, even after he broke his wrist. (Of course, he had to wait until the cast came off and even then he had to wear a brace, which was stiff and it made it a little awkward and hindered him.)

He had single handedly solved Carlos and DA's first major fight, for two reasons. If they broke up, Carlos would mope, and there was nothing more annoying than watching his older brother sulk around the house. Also, DA would stop coming around the house to pick them up for school and random activities with her younger sister.

DA's younger sister, Emily, was two years his junior. They were usually stuck together on random runs to the mall and the occasional group outing with all their older siblings friends. He was positive there wasn't any "awkward feelings" (As his brother would tease him about,) but that she was a really nice girl who didn't mind looking down while walking to talk to a guy in a wheelchair. It wasn't really much of a look down, as he had shot up and she had barely grown since the seventh grade.

He was sure he didn't like her. For the best, too, as he was going back to college in two weeks.

Right. Second year of college, as well as the groups last year.

She was still in highschool. Right. So he couldn't possibly like her. He didn't even live within 30 miles of her during a good portion of the year.

So Mikey wasn't a quitter to give up on Emily.

He never even liked her.

There was nothing to give up.

Or so he told himself.
