I highly recommend you watch MLP: Fim before reading this but honestly do whatever, if you want to read this.

EDIT: I am re-editing this WHOLE thing. Got it? Good. So you will need to re-read but it will be worth it.

I am switching around characters and stuff. For example the character races will have changed.
And this time it will actually feature Twilight Sparkle. These are the characters and their races now:

Twilight Sparkle - Unicorn

Obi-wan Kenobi – Earth Pony

Anakin Skywalker - Pegasus

Ahsoka Tano - Pegasus

Padme Amidala – Unicorn

Lux Bonteri - Earth pony

But other than that the story itself hasn't changed much. Enjoy!

Chapter 1: The Prophecy

Twilight POV

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

There were two groups of the Force; the Jedi who aligned with the light side of the Force and the Sith who aligned with the dark side of the Force. Despite their differences they kept harmony in the galaxy.

But a powerful Sith Lord became resentful of the Jedi. He told lies the Sith and a horrible war began between them and the Jedi.

The Jedi though not wanting to, harnessed the most powerful energies know to ponykind: The Elements of Harmony. Using the elements, the Jedi defeated the Sith and banished the Sith Lord who had started this: DARTH MAUL to Lotho Minor. And…

"And harmony has been maintained in the galaxy ever since…hmm Elements of Harmony," I said thinking out-loud "I know I've heard of those before, but where…"

I shrugged and exited the page I was on in the archives. This idea of the Elements of Harmony was buzzing in my head. I walked out of the archives and started to head back to my room in the Jedi Temple; I picked up my pace to a trot but Barriss Offee and Luminara Unduli stopped me.
"There you are, Twilight!" Barriss the earth pony exclaimed happily "Aayla is having a little get together in the gardens want to come?"
Barriss and Luminara leaned forward expectantly.
"Oh, sorry girls but I've got a lot of studying to do." I said as I pushed my way past them. As I ran away though, I heard Luminara groan with annoyance.
"Does that pony do anything except study?"
"I think she's more interested in holograms than friends." Barriss scoffed upset. I ignored her and continued to run to my room.

As I ran I thought out loud again.
"I know I've heard of the Elements of Harmony." I said and ran past peach colored pony Ki-adi Mundi who waved at me. I need to do research!

I ran into my room and heard a surprised beep. I looked around for my astromech.
"Artoo? Artoo?!" I called out and then looked at the floor where the little astromech laid flat on it back "Artoo? There you are."
The astromech beeped with annoyance but I simply trotted to my private library of holocrons and computer chips looking for a specific one. I glanced back at my astromech.
"Artoo quick find me an old copy of 'Predictions and prophecies,'" I said and noticed the crushed piece of scrap in Artoo's pincher. "What's that for?"
"Well it was a gift for Aayla but—" The astromech beeped as a piece of metal fell to the floor. I rolled my eyes.
"Oh, Artoo you know we don't have time for that kind of thing" I groaned and kept looking through my holocrons.
"But we're on a break!" The R2 unit exclaimed. I ignored him and rapidly pulled holocrons off the shelves using my magic. Where is it?! I thought.
"No, no, no, no no no!" I growled with frustration "Artoo!"
"It's over here!" Artoo called out and I ripped the holocron out of his pincher before he could even get back to the ground.
"Thank you." I thanked the astromech, then I trotted to my desk and opened the holocron with the Force. "Elements, elements e, e, e, e ah-ha! Elements of Harmony, see Darth Maul?" I said curiously.
"Darth Maul? But that's just an old pony's tale" Artoo piped up from a corner of my room. I ignored him again and kept looking.
"Maul, Maul Ah-ha! Darth Maul a myth from olden pony times, a powerful pony who wanted to rule the galaxy. Defeated by the Elements of Harmony and imprisoned in Lotho Minor. Legend has it that on the longest day of the thousandth year his brother will help him escape and unbalance the Force by strengthening the Dark Side." I looked up in alarm "Artoo do you know what this means?!"
"No" the astromech beeped. I walked over to him. I didn't have the time or energy to explain the possible destruction of all good in the universe to an astromech.

"Artoo take a holomessage please, to the Jedi Council" I said. A keyboard projected from the astromech and he looked at me expectantly. "Dearest Council my continuing studies of the Force have led me to discover we are on the previses of disaster!"
"Hold on, pre, presa—" Artoo yelped distressed. He looked up at me defeated.
"Threshold?" I suggested.
"Thr-thre…" He looks up again hopefully.
"Uh, brink?" I said and looked at him. He looked at me hopelessly and I stamped my hoof in anger, "Ah! That something really bad is about to happen!"
He starts recording again. I sighed and continued.
"For you see; the mythical Darth Maul is in fact the real dark lord of the Sith, and he's about to return to the galaxy and bring with him all the power of the Dark Side of the Force! Something must be done to make sure this terrible prophecy does not come true; I await your quick response. Yours truly, Twilight Sparkle."
"Twi-light Spark-le. Got it!" Artoo exclaimed and I smiled.
"Good, now send it" I said.
"Now?"
"Of course"
"Uh, I don't know Twi; the Jedi Council is really busy getting ready for the Festival of Lights, and it's like the day after tomorrow" He beeped. Again a surge of urgency jolted through my veins.
"That's just it Artoo" I said getting right in front of the astromech "The day after tomorrow is the thousandth year of the Festival of Lights! It's imperative that the Council is told right away"
"Impera-impera—" Artoo started up again. My patience snapped like a twig.
"IMPORTANT!" I yelled at him.
"Okay, okay!" Artoo said rushed and sent the holomessage, "There it's on its way, but I wouldn't hold your breath"
"Oh, I'm not worried Artoo. The Jedi Council trusts me completely. In all the years of I've been a Jedi, the Jedi Council have never doubted me"
As I was speaking a holomessage popped out of Artoo's projector.
"See? I knew they'd want to take immediate action" I said as Artoo began to read the message.
"Ahem, dearest most faithful Jedi Knight, Twilight. You know that we value your diligence and trust you completely, but you simply must stop reading those dusty old holocrons" I gasped and looked at him in shock. WHAT?!
