Kagome stared at the stary sky looking back down towards the glowing flames of the fire. She looked at the group around her, inuyasha high up in a tree, sango and miroku snuggled up together. Kirara and shippou sleeping quiet and sound, Ah Un snoozing along with a snoring green imp named jaken. Sesshoumaru nowhere to be found. Rin his darling little ward, curled up upon her lap, started moving her whimpering sounds filled with fright.
Sesshoumaru hard his wards cries, most likely another nightmare. He walked back towards the group that he joined not to long ago. Where another person resides that he has taken as his own. He stopped in his tracks when a gentle sound reached his ears.
Kagome petted the gilrs hair and cooed her softly, but when neither started working a sudden poem came to her head.
Sleep little angel,
I will lull you to sleep.
The stars will twinkle,
and sing with me.
Sleep my angel,
the gods will watch you
and protect as well.
The night is your blanket,
the stars are your light.
No matter how far you are,
I'll always be in sight.
Sound asleep
and the night is warm,
the stars are my eyes
and will save you from harm.
Sesshoumaru stood stunned as he watched rin settle down and snuggle more into kagome's lap, as she sighed in contentment as her eyes said wrong. Silently he moved closer watching her as she placed rin on her blanket, and move towards him.
" You would think after so long, that I already know where you hide." she said in slight whisper
Sesshoumaru smirked and left again, with kagome right beside him. They stopped in a field where the stars shown bright, a small little pond glittering in it's light. Sesshoumaru sat down kagome as well, she in his lap, his chin on her head staring right above.
" Is that poem true?" he asked finally
" Which part do you mean?" she asked right back
" Are the stars your eyes, that protect the ones you care for."
" The stars are no ones eyes, but they shine with hope and love just like mine."
Sesshoumaru put his nose in her hair taking big whiffs of her unique smell
" The night is no ones blanket, but is warm and kind like my soul."
sesshoumaru listened to her speak as he licked her neck gently.
" The gods protect no one, but I surely will."
he nipped it gently causing her to moan, but was caught in her throat
" No one is an angel but I beg to differ."
Sesshoumaru turned her face to him and saw her smiling brightly as he brought his lips down to hers,
" Angels are rare, gods rarely protect, the stars are your eyes and the moon your smile.Let just this one night be just for us and only us."
He brought his lips down on hers as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He let her lips go as she let her head fall to his shoulder, and gently fall asleep with these word on her lips
I love you
Sesshoumaru looked up to the stars again and found them shining brightly, he looked back down to his sleeping angel and whispered to himself so no one could hear him
Sleep sound,
my darling angel.
