Diclaimer: The song ain't mine and neither is doctor who :(
Being alone again in the TARDIS, the Doctor began to think of the first time he was truly alone.
Mother, you had me but I never had you,
I wanted you but you didn't want me,
So I got to tell you,Goodbye, goodbye.
His mother had never been there for him when he was young. She had never wanted a child. She despised his father. When the Doctor went to the academy, she was glad to finally be rid of him, for he looked just as his father had.
Father, you left me but I never left you,
I needed you but you didn't need me,
So I got to tell you,
Goodbye, goodbye.
His father left before he was born. He never really got to know him. He always wished he had. His father died in the Timewar. The Doctor feels it was his fault, everything was. That was why he always chose to run. Run away from everything.
Children, don't do what I have done,
I couldn't walk and I tried to run,
So I got to tell you,
Goodbye, goodbye.
The Doctor was a father once, even a grandfather. He told them not to do what he had done, run away, be brave, try to save the universe, but children never listen do they?
Mama don't go,
Daddy come home.
Mama don't go,
Daddy come home.
Every night he spent at the academy he would hope that his childish dreams would come true, though he knew they wouldn't. His mother would always leave him, and his father would never come home.
