I don't own Monster High, however awesome that may be.
Clawd P.O.V.
I ran under Cyc's hand and grabbed the ball. I was just about to shoot-
"Hey, little sis." My younger sister, Clawdeen, had taken the ball from me and popped it with her claws. "What's gotten into you? Flea problem?"
Clawdeen roughly pushed me until she had me cornered in a closet. "Like you don't know." She glared at me. "Why are you takin' Draculaura to the dance?"
"'Cause Heath was being...Heath." I flashed back to just yesterday.
Draculaura stumbled from the fearleaders's pyramid and right into my arms. She cost us the game, but I was concerend for the vamp I had known forever. Afterwards, I was walking over to where Heath Burns had her cornered.
"That was...AWESOME!" Heath declared to the sobbing girl. "You should've seen your face. BAM! Total ownage. I think some kids have already posted the video on FrightTube!"
"How did I ever agree to go to the Scream-Team Rally with a jerk like you?" She said back. Having enough of this, I moved in behind Heath.
"So don't." I told her. "I'll take you." She smiled for a fraction of a second before a forlorn (Yes, Werewolves pay attention in English class, too.).
"I told Heath I'd go with him." Arm still on the wall next to Draculaura's head, Heath gave me a cocky grin that ticked me off.
So I put my arm on the wall above his. "Hey, Burns. Cool if she goes with me instead?"
Intimidated by my height, Heath said, "Uh...yeah. Of-of course, Clawd. I mean, whatever?" Just like that, he was gone.
"It's settled, then." I said to the vamp in front of me. I'll pick you up at six."
"O-okay!" she called after me, and I couldn't help but smile.
"Okay, Clawd!" Clawdeen snapped me back to the present by pushing me to the ground. "Sit. Stay. This is obidience class. I want my friends over here-" She pulled a file cabinet drawer out on one side of her. "-and my family way back over there." She pulled one far away from the first out to emphasize. "That's the way I like it. So you stay in your yard. Got it?" She shoved the drawers back in." Clawdeen leaned in close and said, "She is one of my best friends. So if you do anything, anything, to hurt her feelings, I'm gonna be in your grill like a hamburger. Understood?"
I stood up and put my hands in front of me. "Woah. Slow your growl, sis. Sure, she's a cool ghoul, but I've known Draculaura since I was a pup. We're just going as friends. Promise."
As she walked away, I thought back on our conversation. Draculaura and I were just friends...right? I mean, she was really pretty. And funny. Endearing. Fun to be around. Sweet. A complete romantic...
When I thought of her smile, my heart almost melted. I put my hand to my forehead. Were we just friends? I wasn't sure anymore.
