I walked in the front door of my home with a bag of groceries on my hip. Dad, Sam, Dean, and Castiel were sitting in the living room watching the football game drinking beers. Although Cass wasn't drinking a beer, he was just sitting like a stone on the couch, staring at the T.V. like it had offended him. I giggled and set the back of groceries down on the kitchen counter. I felt two arms go around my waist and hold me tight. I knew it was Cass. He kissed my temple and let me go. He stood next to me and helped me put away the groceries.
He pulled out the cans of beef stew and put them in a cupboard. I reached at the bottom of my bag and found what I was looking for. Pop-Rocks. I smiled evilly and we finished putting everything away. Cass grabbed my hand and we walked into the living room. "Look what I have boys!" I said excitedly to Sam and Dean. They looked over and smiled "Gimme, Gimme!" Dean yelled and ran over. I handed him a packet and threw Sam the other. I tore my own open and looked at Cass.
He was looking at the packets curiously. "I want you to try these Cass. You put some on your tongue and they crackle," I said to him. "Does it hurt?" He asked innocently. "No Cass, it won't hurt." I made a cup out of his hand and dumped some of the candy in his hand. I did the same thing with my hand and showed him what to do. I put my hand to my mouth and threw my head back. The candy rested on my tongue and started crackling.
Cass copied me and the candy rested on his tongue. He suddenly got this look on his face. He looked like he was going to cry, laugh, and explode all at the same time. I started laughing at his face, so the boys and Dad came in to see what I was laughing about. They saw his face and burst out laughing. Dean was on the floor, holding his side. Sam was wiping tears from his face, and Dad was trying, and failing, to hold back his laughter. Cass swallowed the candy and looked at all of us. He looked at the floor and flew away.
I knew we had embarrassed him. I left the boys and went up to my room. As I predicted, Castiel was sitting on the floor in the corner. His legs were in front on him, and his hands were in his lap, his head hanging. I sighed and sat next to him. "Cass," I started, "We didn't mean to embarrass you. Your face was just so cute." He sniffled and looked at me. He had tears in his eyes. He had been showing more emotions lately. Most of the time, he was crying like a three-year-old.
"Oh, Cass." I leaned over and gave him a tight hug. He hugged back without hesitation. "You know, that no matter what, I'll always love you right?" I said to him. He nodded his head against my shoulder and said, "I know. I love you too." We pulled apart and I gave him a quick kiss. We stood up, and I wiped his tears. "Let's go have dinner." He nodded and we walked out of my room, hand in hand.
