"Don't be so optimistic Wakka."

I heard that from you almost every day growing up. Don't hope for sunshine, you'll only get rain. Don't pray for victory, Yevon will just disappoint you. When it turned out you were right, you always looked at me with that I-told-you-so smirk on your face while I tried not to let it get to me.

"Chappu's not coming back, so don't wait for him to come home."

You didn't want to be right. You wanted him home with us, with you. You let your guard down and hoped for the best that time.

How do you say "I told you so" to yourself?
