Author's Note: After the last episode, I had to write something about Jinx. So, here it is. Written in about ten minutes, flames will be used to roast marshmellows.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything in this story. Except perhaps the idea/plot thing. Yeah.

It was always in that short moment, as her adrenaline ebbed before charging up again, that she heard his voice. In the moment when she had grabbed the money, or the jewelry, right before she ran.
I could have been a lot of things.
It's his voice, Stone's, or Cyborg's if you had to be technical. Perhaps hinting that if a superhero could have been a villain, a villain could be a hero. Then the adrenaline kicks up and she's running, running from his voice.
I could have been a lot of things.
Stone and Cyborg were two separate people. She fought Cyborg, but danced with Stone. Or had it been vice versa? Dual identities always gave her a headache. Because when you came down to it, there was only one person. Stone might as well have been imaginary.
I could have been a lot of things.
There must have been a time when she wasn't bad luck, perhaps for only a moment. But for that moment, she hadn't been a jinx; no one had wanted her locked up. When she heard his voice, she didn't feel like bad luck.
I could have been a lot of things.
The whole mess was really his fault. Sometimes she stole just to hear his voice, just to be reminded of the moment, frozen in time. So she had broken into the museum, to steal the amulet.
I could have been a lot of things.
It wasn't just the gemstones that made her want the amulet, though she sneered and brushed the question off when asked about the legend of good luck. She couldn't let her team know about the voice, about the real reason she stole things.
I could have been a lot of things.
Kid Flash had just shown up, messed up her life. Perhaps ruined her chances of getting into the Brotherhood of Evil. She hated having her plans ruined.
I could have been a lot of things.
She had let him go, but only because no one was allowed to mess with her. That was the only reason.
I could have been a lot of things.
So she went back to the museum, back to the amulet. Because when all was said and done, it was a challenged now. And she didn't back down from challenges. She dispatched the moon men with ease, took the necklace out of its case. There it was, the adrenaline pause. She waited for Stone's voice, but instead…
I know you're better than this.
Startled, she dropped the object she had come to steal. As if he hadn't done enough, now he had taken over the job as her conscience! But…
I know you're better than this.
He didn't hint, didn't waver. His electric blue eyes haunted her memory, reminding her that he had broken her defenses. Telling her that she wasn't bad luck to him. That look had stayed for more than a moment.
You don't have to hurt people to feel good about yourself.
For a long time, she had stolen just for Stone's voice in her head. But even though she had always been reminded, she had kept going. The adrenaline hadn't stayed down for more than a moment. This time, she didn't get the second rush.
When you're as fast as me, time's something you've got a lot of.
She could consider his offer. She had time.
She had more than a moment, from now on.
