He couldn't hear anything, nothing except ringing. He opened his eyes, and saw people screaming, saw things that should have been loud. He saw the dust flying in the air, swirling and settling. But he didn't see her.

He got to his feet and began walking in search of her. He could feel a throbbing sensation coming from his side. He looked down to see a huge gash in his side, the blood pouring from it covered his clothes.

He felt people try to stop him. He turned to look at them, their EMT patches telling him their purpose. He pushed them aside, "Need to find her!!" He knew he said, but couldn't hear his own voice.

He looked around, through the dust and chaos and saw nothing but screaming people, not seeing her anywhere. His body began to grow weak, his vision blurred.

He began to panic his chest beginning to seize up. He felt another tugging on his arm. He turned around to see her behind him. Her beautiful chubby face covered in sot, streaked with tears. Her hair wild from its binding. She was gesturing towards his side, saying something that he couldn't hear. But it didn't matter because she was okay.

He fell to his knees in front of her, his arms wrapping around her waist laying his face against her rounded belly. He felt her wrap her arms around his head.

He felt his son kick against his face until the world went black.

He woke to the sounds of machines beeping; he could feel something sticking in his arm. He opened his eyes seeing the hospital room he was in. He tried sitting up but was quickly brought back down by the world spinning.

"Lindsay!" he yelled, his throat dry.

"Danny?!" he heard her gasp. Then he was looking up into her blurry angelic face. She had tears in her eyes. She looked tired, worried.

He gingerly reached up to touch her face, "Beautiful," he whispered. She smiled down at him.

He let his hand drop down to her be… It was gone!! Her belly was gone!

His already dry throat tightened up, he felt the tears sting his eyes, "Baby?" he gasped.

Then he heard a cart being pushed over from the corner, "He is fine Danny. I promise he is fine, honey. He was a little bit early, but he is healthy and strong. A Messer through and through."

Moving to sit up, he fought the pain and dizziness that brought him down the first time. His heart filled with pride, joy and love at the sight of the little blue bundle in the incubated bassinet. She put his glasses on so he could see. "Why's he in there?" he reached his hand out to touch the device his son was in.

"The doctors are still taking precautions," she explained.

He looked at her, "I'm sorry you had to go through this alone."

"You're awake now, and you're alive. Our son is alive and healthy," she touched his face lightly.

"Love you," he whispered leaning into her, kissing her.
