"Hey, Austria…?"

The Brunette opened one violet eye and drowsily looked up at the person who was interrupting his sleep. Oh, gott, it was Denmark. What did Mathias want at-? Austria glanced to the Grandfather Clock in the corner of his room. In the midst of the darkness, he could slightly make out the time. Rather it was 3:43 or 4:43, but it was still too late to be waking him up. He reached over to the nightstand and turned on the small lamp, quickly grabbing his glasses and putting them on to make out the seemingly eager Dane.

"There better be a good reason for this, Denmark. I was sleeping!" Austria crossed his arms and glared at the Blonde. "Und don't you have a bed to be sleeping in?"

Denmark nodded slightly, "Well, ja, but-"

Austria turned the light off and snuggled back under the blankets; not bothering with his glasses, and flipped the other way.

"Go back to sleep, Mathias."

Denmark sighed a little and started for the door slowly, but came back and prodded the side of Austria's face.

"Roddy, I can't go back to sleep," he whispered, but just loud enough to make sure Austria would wake up if he had somehow magically fallen asleep in two second, "that's why I came in here the first time."

With a growl, the smaller of the two flipped over again and looked up.

"Und warum?" Austria's voice was scratchy from exhaustion, and this stupid Northern Nation was persistent on keeping him up.

Denmark tapped his fingertips together nervously before glancing around the black room and looking back at Austria.

"I….I'm having bad dreams…" Denmark was metaphorically choking on embarrassment, and it was pretty obvious he was slightly blushing in the dark.

With a sigh, Austria lifted a tired hand from under his pillow and intertwined Denmark's fingers with his.

"Darling, if you can't sleep alone… I guess it's okay for you to sleep with me." He smiled softly, gripping onto Denmark's hand tightly.

Denmark giddily jumped onto the bed beside him, wrapping his arms around the Germanic. Austria didn't resist or fidget under the hug, but only kissed the side of his friend's cheek.

"I thought you were going to yell at me and send me out of the room, Specks!" Denmark nuzzled his face into Austria's chocolate-brown hair and sighed endearingly.

"Nein, I would never send you away." He thought about his words carefully for a moment and smiled. "Und you are most definitely welcome in my bed whenever you have nightmares."
