Gil stood at the stove and hummed as he flipped each pancake over on the griddle. After a moment more of cooking, he lifted each and placed them onto a plate. He turned and placed the plate on the table in front of Nick.
"Enjoy," he said with a smile.
Nick picked up the bottle of syrup and poured a liberal amount over the pancakes.
"Love pancakes with syrup," he said as he dragged two fingers through the syrup and made a show of licking them clean.
Gil groaned as he watched the show. 'Love Nick with syrup,' he thought.
