The True Meaning of Loneliness

What people fear the most is that what they cannot see

Ghosts and ghouls and goblins

Things that most cannot see, but maybe one can

She just appeared one day, through the window, talking to herself

He had been in the room, confused, he hit her

She sat in shock, how could this boy see her? She asked the question aloud

He looked confused, how could he not see her? She was right there

She said she was a ghost, dead for many years, looking for what she lost

He stared. Still confused. He called in his sister, she saw nothing

She stayed for a year, looking for what was once hers at this same spot

He let her stay, not sure what to do exactly

She found it one day, under a loose floorboard in the boy's room

He was happy for her, truly he was

She was complete again, filled with happiness

He smiled, it was a fake one, but he smiled

She disappeared soon after, never to be seen again

He was all alone

What people fear the most is that what they cannot see

Real loneliness

Is not having something but,

Having and losing.

People cannot see loneliness

And that should be most feared of all
