A Moment
"Hey!" exclaimed Pinkie Pie, "It's not a party until somepony spreads magic-resistant ooze uncontrollably over the ballroom!"
She gave a squee!
"Come on, Smoozinator!" she yelled, grabbing the Smooze in a big hug, "Let's daaaaaance!"
Discord watched as the Smooze slithered over to the dance floor with Pinkie, and they both began to groove to the music. He chuckled. That Pinkie Pie really was cute.
Then his eyes shifted from Pinkie and the Smooze, and grazed the ballroom, finally settling on Princess Celestia and Twilight Sparkle. Twilight seemed to be protesting about something, but Celestia laughed through it, and nudged Twilight over to the dance floor.
Discord found himself staring at Princess Celestia. She looked even prettier than usual in that ballgown. Her unblemished skin gleamed in the party light, and her rainbow coloured mane and tail rippled in their natural flowing motion, like they always did. There was something about Celestia that attracted him. There always had been, even thousands of years ago, before he had been reformed. Not that he would ever have admitted it at the time, of course, but there had.
As Discord watched her, Celestia looked round and caught his eye.
She winked!
Discord's cheeks went bright crimson, and he immediately looked away. Celestia chuckled, then walked out of the ballroom and onto the balcony. Discord watched her go out of the corner of his eye, then looked deliberately in the other direction, kind of afraid to look at her. Instead, his eyes fell upon Fluttershy and Tree Hugger, both of whom were looking at him with sly smiles.
"Go get her, Discord," said Fluttershy, grinning.
"What?" said Discord, unconvincingly, "Her? No, no, no, I was just looking at the...decor...on the walls."
Fluttershy and Tree Hugger grinned.
"No, no, no, NO!" cried Discord, as they both shoved him across the ballroom floor and towards the exit! He struggled to get out of their hooves, but it was no use. With one last push, Fluttershy shoved him out onto the balcony, then winked and slammed the doors behind him.
Discord scowled at the slammed doors. Of course, he could always just teleport back inside, but...there was something about that that didn't seem like it was the right thing to do.
He sighed and glanced over at Celestia.
"It's a lovely evening, don't you think?" she said, pleasantly, obviously aware that Discord was behind her, "Discord."
Discord sighed. Let's get this over with, he thought, dully.
He trudged flat-footedly over to the balcony, keeping a considerate distance from the princess. He rested his chin in his hands and avoided eye contact with her. This could get awkward.
"I have to say thank you for making the Gala so much fun," said Princess Celestia, grinning, "Nopony but you could have made the most boring night of the year so exciting."
"I know. And I'm—no, wait, what?" exclaimed Discord, "Did you just say fun?"
Celestia chuckled. "Oh, Discord. You've never been to the Grand Galloping Gala before. They're always so very dull. I was hoping you could liven things up a little bit this year."
Discord blinked. "You're saying you enjoyed all that?" he asked, a grin crawling onto his face, "And here I thought excitement wasn't your thing."
"Are you kidding me?" laughed Celestia, "I've been to thousands of Grand Galloping Galas, and each one of them is more boring than the last. I say a little chaos was just what the Gala needed." She gave him a nudge with her elbow as she said that.
Discord smirked. He looped his snakelike body twice round Celestia, and squeezed her under his arm like an affectionate embrace.
"Well, maybe next year we could take it up a notch," he said, flirtatiously, giving Celestia's muzzle a flick with his eagle claw, "I do know a lot about livening things up, after all. I'm thinking maybe some self-folding napkins and self-serving tableware, maybe even a period of time where we could, I don't know, forget about gravity?" He gave her a meaningful nudge as he said that.
Celestia laughed! "I don't know about all that," she said, smiling.
"Too much?" suggested Discord, uncoiling his body from around her and pressing her cheek to his, "Then how about some chocolate milk rain? Everypony loves chocolate milk, don't they?"
When Celestia responded by chuckling quietly and then gently resting her head against his shoulder, the Lord of Chaos felt an explosion of feelings go off inside him.
She makes me feel so relaxed, thought Discord, as he stroked her flowing mane, her head nuzzled against his shoulder.
"You embarrass me, Cay-Cay," he said, flatly, but secretly rather enjoying this.
"Cay-Cay," chuckled Celestia, "I like that."
She looked over at him, and their eyes met. Discord didn't quite know what was happening, but their faces seemed to be coming closer, and before he knew it, his lips were pressed against hers. A swimming giddiness spun around in his head when he realized he was kissing her. He didn't quite know what he was getting into, but all he knew was that he wanted more.
He nibbled on her bottom lip, then sucked it in. His snake tongue grazed her lips, then slithered inside, slowly exploring the sweetness of her mouth. Their tongues intertwined for a moment, and Celestia laughed as they did so. Discord closed his eyes and let his tongue gently play with hers, surprised that even Princess Celestia tasted this good.
Their lips parted and Discord closed both his hands over her chest and snuggled her against his body. Her soft wings brushed against his neck. Celestia giggled and nuzzled the side of her head in his chest. It definitely felt good to have his arms around her. To be honest, it was the most amazing feeling she had ever felt. She nestled up closer, giving Discord the space to plant soft kisses along her neck. She laughed and tried to wriggle out of his hold as he nibbled along one of her ears and trailed kisses down the side of her cheek.
She wrapped her front legs around him and pulled herself closer to the Lord of Chaos, who placed both his hands around her and brought her in for more. She gave in, and the alicorn's lips met the draconequus's in another soft kiss. She smiled into it as his tongue snuck past her teeth and caressed hers. His lion paw found its way into her flowing mane and ran his fingers through the smooth silky locks. Celestia gave a moan of ecstasy as he ever so gently caressed her cheek, bringing her closer. Their tongues entwined again, and Discord felt like he was drowning in bliss as her mouth and tongue coaxed a glorious rush of pleasure through him. She tasted so sweet. So very, very sweet. The kiss lasted for about fifteen seconds before they parted and instantly looked away, both their faces flushed red.
"I should...go and check on the Smooze," said Discord, blushing furiously.
"You go and...do that," said Celestia, her cheeks very red, and a very giggly smile on her face.
She leaned up and planted a soft kiss on Discord's forehead, and he blushed harder.
With a flash of light, Discord vanished, and appeared back in the ballroom. He strode past Pinkie Pie and the Smooze, (who were still grooving to the music) and back towards the stage, feeling all warm and tingly inside. A grin crawled onto his face. He just couldn't help it. He gave a sigh of happiness and leaned against the side of the stage. He touched his lips gently. He could still taste Celestia's kiss. It tasted sweet, like her.
"You were gone for a while," said Fluttershy, fluttering over to him with a knowing smile on her face.
"Oh, hey there, Fluttershy," Discord said, vaguely, still taking in what had just occurred between him and Celestia.
"Is there anything you want to tell me about?" grinned Fluttershy, raising an eyebrow.
"No," said Discord, a little too quickly, "Nothing at all."
"Oh, admit it," said Fluttershy, smiling, "You and Celestia were doing something out there, weren't you?"
"I'm positive I have no idea what you're talking about," said Discord, flatly.
"Is that a blush I see?" teased Fluttershy.
"No," said Discord, desperately trying to cover his red-tinged cheeks, "It's just...very hot in here."
He snapped his fingers and a fancy fan instantly appeared in his lion paw. He quickly began to fan himself, and wiped imaginary sweat from his brow to emphasize.
Fluttershy chuckled. "Way to go, Discord."
...
"Princess Celestia?" called Twilight Sparkle, pushing open the doors to the balcony to see the Princess of the Sun standing there, resting her head on her hoof and gazing dreamily up at the stars.
"Hey...Princess Celestia. I saw Discord come out here, and then he didn't come out for a while," Twilight said, uncertainly, "And I just wanted to make sure..."
She suddenly stopped as she saw the ecstatic look on the princess's face.
"Are you," said Twilight, in disbelief, "Blushing?"
Celestia chuckled and touched her cheeks. "Yes."
Twilight blinked. Her mentor had come across all giggly all of a sudden. In fact, she was acting like a person who had just...
Then her eyes widened. No. No way. It wasn't possible. Was it?
"You weren't...?" she stuttered, incredulously, "Were you...?"
Celestia giggled and touched her lips. "Maybe."
Twilight's jaw dropped, making her face look even more gormless than it usually did when she was astonished.
"For the first time in my entire life," said Twilight, shakily, "I have nothing to say."
