His heart felt heavy with guilt and pain, his eyes full of determination of revenge. He had stood there as ShinRa's general had fallen, striking the defenceless flowergirl right before his eyes. He couldn't forgive himself for not pushing her out of the way, for not realising Sephiroth's intentions sooner.

He was at a loss as to where to go from here on. Aeris had always been the one who knew where to go and how to get there. Her cheery attitude was what kept them going. After losing her, the air around Avalanche grew colder. And it was nothing to do with the fact they were surrounded by the snowy mountains. Everyone was trying to come to terms with losing the flower girl.

Her pink ribbon lay in his shirt pocket and he had no plans of taking it out anytime soon. He didn't want to be reminded of her, reminded of what he had lost. The pink ribbon, the white materia...he never wanted to see them again. He just wanted to block out the pain. He wanted his eyes to stop burning, for his hands to stop trembling.

To be with the love he lost.
