Disclaimer:
I do not own anything but my own storylines.
My goal for this story is to spread awareness of the teen situations in the world. I hope this is an inspiration for all of you to help out anyone you know who has problems like bullying, finding self-confidence, and anything related to that. Please enjoy the read!
The Movie
The entire middle school student body gathered for an assembly in their enormous auditorium. It was the annual assembly where the school talks about a global problem to spread awareness so people can help out. This year, it's about not judging people, bullying, finding your self-confidence, and related topics along those lines.
Two of the students, Romeo Conbolt and Wendy Marvel, were taking a seat next to each other. They have been great friends since elementary school, and have spent time with their older friends at a local teen hangout.
"I wonder what they'll be presenting to us today," Wendy wondered out loud. The young, sweet girl was always up for learning, something her older sister figures had influenced her.
"Eh, it's always the same thing," Romeo shrugged, putting his hands behind is head, kicking back. "They talk about the same topics every year to every class and yet the problem is still around." The young boy was quite the opposite of his friend. He takes after his older brother figures, who don't study and are always laid back about school. At least Romeo is a little smarter than them.
"You sound like you don't care about this whole global problem," Wendy said.
"Trust me, I care a lot," Romeo defended, "But think about it. Everyone is aware of the whole bullying thing. People can spread awareness as much as they like but they're still going to be around." He then added quietly to himself, "That's what bothers me." He remembered the time when he got bullied when he was only six. That was before he made great, protective friends.
One of them being Wendy. She knew his situation and was able to comfort him anytime. Now, she laid a hand on his shoulder and offered him a smile, cheering him up right away.
Everyone began to quiet down and applaud as the mayor of the great city of Magnolia came on to the big stage. He was a miniature old man, only about four feet. People would sometimes laugh about his height, but then they don't know who Makarov Dreyar is, the most respected and powerful man in Magnolia who can be very scary at times, despite being a midget.
"Good afternoon, everyone," Makarov greeted into the microphone at the podium. "We gather here today as we do every year to discuss the common social global issues to spread awareness of it. The discussion today will not be just about one specific topic, but they are all related to each other. It is mainly going to be about finding self-confidence. Now there are many other topics under this subject, like bullying, getting over your hardships, etc, and those, too, will also be discussed. Now, we can talk about it as much as we can about the effects and consequences of bullying, but we can never 100% exterminate it. But we can at least lessen it. That is our goal."
Applause sounded at Makarov's opening speech. "Today, we will not be doing much talking, and I don't think you kids would like that either. Instead, we will be watching a movie. This movie is about everyday teenagers who have gone through so many troubles. Each one has a scar. Each scar, has a story. But not everyone is willing to get to know the story before they start judging and making their own assumptions. This leads to bullying, loss of self-esteem for the victim, and many other consequences. Watching this movie, you may find yourself connecting in any slightest possible way."
He cued a teacher to start the movie projected on the big screen. Before it started, Makarov added, "Please note, these are real teenagers who have agreed to tell their story. Each will tell their struggles, their true story, and a message. I encourage all of you to take it to heart what they say. Also, you might be surprised you to see these people in the movie. You might even know them." Makarov said his last statement with a little amused grin.
Some noticed it, like Wendy and Romeo, but others didn't catch it. Wendy thought on what Makarov said about maybe knowing the people in the movie.
Watching the movie, nobody would have expected seeing these faces in the movie. They weren't celebrities, but they were all pretty well known in Magnolia.
(A/N)- So this is a short beginning to the story but it'll get better, I promise! And hopefully you guys think so too.
