Missing Metabee

Ikki tenryou woke up, excited. Tomorrow was the day that he and Metabee would help with the grand opening of the medabot adoption centre run by . It was a secret to Metabee. Ikki wanted to see him surprised.

When Ikki looked to where Metabee should be, he saw that Metabee was not there. Instead, there was a note attached to the pamphlet gave him, just in case he forgot. When Ikki read the note, it said,

Ikki,

If you don't want me anymore, fine. I don't want you, either. This is goodbye. I wish you just told me you didn't want me anymore, so I could leave sooner.

Ikki ran out the door. Why did he think surprising Metabee was a good idea? Now he's out there alone somewhere, thinking he does not want him.

Ikki ran around the entire town, not caring that he was still in his pyjamas, how tired he was, or that he was hungry because he missed breakfast and lunch. All he cared about was finding metabee, his best friend.

Ikki looked around the town, but there was no sign of Metabee anywhere. Ikki ran into Henry's shop, hoping he was there.

"What's wrong?" Henry asked as he saw Ikki run in.

"It's metabee," Ikki explained. "He ran away because of a misunderstanding. Have you seen him?"

"No," Henry answered. "But I'm sure he's fine. Why don't you stop and rest a while,"

Ikki shook his head. "I have to find him," he answered. Then, he ran out the door.

Ikki knew that since he could not find Metabee in the town, his best bet was to look for him in the forest.

Ikki looked for him until night began to fall. By now he was very tired and hungry. He sat down and began to cry.

"Metabee, come back," he said even though Metabee probably couldn't hear him. "You're the only medabot I want,"

"Really?" a voice asked. "Then what about the pamphlet for the Medabot adoption centre?"

Ikki turned around. "Metabee!" he exclaimed. "I'm so happy I found you!"

"If you are happy to find me, then what about the pamphlet I found?" Metabee asked.

"Ms. Nae is opening a Metabot adoption centre," Ikki explained. "She asked if we could volunteer for the grand opening by helping people select the right medabot and teach them to robattle. I wanted to surprise you."

"Really?" Metabee asked. He looked at Ikki's pyjamas. "How long have you been looking for me?"

"All day," Ikki answered. "You're my best friend."

"Thanks," Metabee said. " Let's go home. We'll have a busy day tomorrow,"

Ikki nodded. " Yeah," he agreed.

As they were walking, Metabee asked " Will you tell me if you ever want to replace me?"

"No," Ikki answered. "I'll never tell you that I want to replace you, because I never will. You're the only metabot I want.

"You're the only metafighter I want," Metabee said.

"Thanks," Ikki said.

"I'm glad I have a best friend like you," Metabee said. "You're always there for me,"

"You're always there for me, also," Ikki said.

"Let's promise that if one of us is upset because of the other one, we'll talk aabout it," Metabee said.

"Promise," Ikki said.
