into my head, and I had to write it.
The day was warm, a slight zephyr moving the leaves on the trees only slightly and not very often. The sky was a vibrant blue, unmarred by the tails of clouds. Two men lay in the dappled shade of a great tree, relishing in the warmth and calm.
One was dressed in cut-off jeans, blue-and-white plaid shirt open to reveal a smooth, toned chest. A pair of gold wire-rimmed glasses rested on the grass beside him. Both arms were tucked under his head. The other was in shorts and shirtless, a small grin teasing the corner of his mouth as the breeze ruffled his salt-and-pepper hair.
"Do you think angels have wings?" Daniel asked idly, breaking the comfortable silence.
"No," Jack said immediately in a tone that left no room for argument.
Daniel sent a questioning glance his way. "Why?"
"Because I see one every day, and I'd definitely notice if he had a pair of great white wings."
"What's his name?" Daniel asked, thinking Jack was just teasing him again.
Jack turned on his side, propping his head in a hand. His brown eyes twinkled and he smiled. Daniel raised an expectant eyebrow. Jack said, "His name is Daniel Jackson."
